5.0 out of 5 stars Which?
You may be looking at this composite cable and wonder, which should I get?
Composite: Offers the ability to play music, photos, and videos. Overall "okay" quality.
D-Terminal: Offers the ability to play music, photos, and videos. Overall "better" quality. Rarely used in the USA. (Do not confuse with VGA ports.)(Not sold in the United states.)

1.0 out of 5 stars Details on website missing VITAL INFORMATION. No gameplay via composite?
So when I opened my package, the Composite AV link said "Videos, Music, and UMDs on your television." Unfortunately this was a warning that this site as well as the few others which sell this product are missing. Because in the big and fine print on the packaging, it clearly states gameplay cannot be played through these cables.

Bwuh?!? Yes, I was quite shocked and annoyed as well but there it is, the key feature of the PSP-2000 is lacking in these cables. And these worst part is how hard this information was to come by. Consider yourself warned. I sure wasn't.

D-Terminal: Offers the ability to play music, photos, and videos. Overall "better" quality. Rarely used in the USA. (Do not confuse with VGA ports.)(Not sold in the United states.)
Component: Offers the ability to play games on a progressive scan TV (480p, ect.), music, photos, and videos. Overall "better" quality.
S-Video: Offers the ability to play music, photos, and videos. Overall "good" quality. (Not sold in the Unite States.)
On another note, the PSP's native resolution is 480x272, and when you place that on a 720x480 or higher resolution TV, it will never look as sharp. These cables are nice for taking a PSP to someone's house and showing them videos or photos on their TV, or your TV.

This cable works fine with the PSP 3000 and older TV for playing games, I know, I own both. The package says it's for the PSP 2000 and will not display games but like I said, it works fine with the PSP 3000.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but you might be dissapointed,,,, October 17, 2007

These cables are nice because they allow you to connect your PSP 2000 to a TV. you can scroll through the XMB and you can view photos, listen to music (and view the visualizations), Watch UMD videos, and also MP4 videos. You can even use the Web Browser on your TV. Unfortunately, you cannot play games with this cable. You can try but as soon as you start a game, a pop-up displays, and informs you that to play games you need to buy the PSP 2000 Component AV Cable. I think this flaw should be included in the product description so that customers with older SDTVs that only have Composite cable inputs, would know that they will NOT be able to play games from their PSP 2000 on a TV.

I don't see what the big deal is with this cable. It works great with my PSP 3000. The video playback is pretty good, the sound quality is great, and I can view pictures on the tv. I don't know how a video UMD would work with this cable, as I haven't tested this idea yet. The internet browser is exceptional on the tv. When I play video games on the tv, it displays a somewhat small screen, but this is no big deal for me.

Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone who has a PSP 3000.

4.0 out of 5 stars Why are we hating on this product so much?, February 18, 2009
This review is from: PSP AV Cable (Video Game)
To all those who think this product is crap. IT'S NOT!!!! I REPEAT NOT CRAP!!! If you have a PSP-3000, which is the current model I own, you plug it up, go to connected display settings, then go to switch video output and then you get oh my god! video on the tv. I haven't tested UMD movies on this nor music but contrary to the product's writing, it will let you play games on it. If you do this on a PSP-2000 however it will not work because the firmware on the PSP did not allow play on a regular TV but will play on a digital TV. Please stop dissing products until you've tried everything possible to make it work for your tv.

These cables definatly works with my psp3000 (sorry 2000 or below owners).
games and video play at quality between old sd tube tv and dvd.
I also bought the psp component cables for my hd tv.It works excellent as
well, but these composite cables I bought because i also have an older
tv (yes pre-digital ready dinosaur tube) wich we use for our gaming room.
As stated in other reviews it crops image about two thirds of tv screen,
as with both cables.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you have a PSP-3000, this will display games on SDTV., January 16, 2009

A lot of the negative reviews for this product are due to the fact that with a PSP-2000 and PSP-1000, you cannot play PSP games on your standard television.

However, if you have a PSP-3000, you will be able to. When you connect the cable, all you have to do is go to your display settings and change it so that it will display on your TV screen. If you have a widescreen TV, the display will be great. However, if you have a standard 4:3 screen, the displayed image will be rather small.

The small 4:3 display is the reason this gets four stars instead of five. I would have expected that, just like movies, the display would've been enlarged so that there are only black bars on the top and bottom... but instead it's like a small rectangle in the middle of your screen.

But, I can't complain too much because I'm finally getting to play PSP games on my standard television set! Huzzah!

I definitely recommend this product.

These Composite cables work fine with my PSP 3000 and I am able to play UMD games projected to my old analog TV set. There is a black border around the screen image and the resolution is reduced so make sure you are using a very large TV set(otherwise it might be difficult to read some text).

Just go to "Connected Display Settings" and click that. Then go to "Switch Video Output" and click into that. Have your Composite cable connected to your PSP and click "Connect an AV cable". You should be good to go. If you are still using an old analog TV set, then these cables are just the ticket.
