Pretty Good Sound & Cheap Price!, June 20, 2005
This review is from: PSP Headbanger Earsubs (Video Game)
First off, the Ear Subs are worth the money!!!
With that said, I want to mention a few things and help clarify a few things as well.
1) There are THREE different versions of the Ear Subs - (PSP Ear Subs, iPod Ear Subs, Universal Ear Subs). BE SURE YOU KNOW WHICH ONE YOU ARE BUYING!!! The PSP version can ONLY be played on the PSP, the power for the built-in amplifier is provided by the PSP. Like the PSP version, the iPod version can ONLY be used on an iPod, any generation or model iPod will support it. The Universal version can be used on any audio device, but the power for the amp is provided by two AAA batteries that are housed in an inline case.
2) These Ear Subs provide some awesome bass, but doesn't over do it. The high and medium frequencies are crisp and well provided for. However, there is one minor side affect of these headphones, they have a low frequency buzz if no audio is being played. The buzz could annoy the audio purist. But when you are listening to tunes, games, movies, or whatever, that buzz seems to disappear.
Note: The image provided for this product is the Universal model. The PSP and iPod versions don't have that inline small box. That is what houses the AAA batteries for the Universal model.
OVERALL: My two cents is to go for the Universal model. I own a PSP and an iPod and would want to be able to use these headphones for both. As much as I like the idea of not having to use external batteries for headphones, I don't want own two pairs of these. But some of you may, its your call.

WOW just WOW, December 31, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: PSP Headbanger Earsubs (Video Game)
You have to hear these to believe it. Yes they feel wierd and these are my first noise canceling but after a hour you get useds to them. As for cancling noise, freaking great job doing it. My wife and kids like to yell. I turn them up a little bit and I dont hear them even right next to me :D
Now as for the sound quality. Wow, really wow. No kidding here it is as if some soneone stuck a set of kick butt speakers including the sub right to my head. The bass is great and it hits very low frequences (sp) as well. Really low! Great low mid and high range. Listening to Cat Stevens right now and the struming of the strings is clear as a bell. I cant say enough about these.
I almost didnt get them because of a review with the PSP and a clicking noise. Yes there is a clicking noise barly evident and only there in quiet times but that is hardly ever. Hooked up to my Z5500 pod and mp3 player I hear no clicking or anything. I can tell you this too. If you turn the volumes up it doesnt get distorted at all but it rattles your ears and starts to hurt. If getting for your child please monitor thier lisening to make sure they are not up to loud. You will go def ;)
That is all. For $20 IMO you wont find anything better.

Finally, Low Price and Quality Performance!!, September 21, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: PSP Headbanger Earsubs (Video Game)
I've purchased more headphones then I care to mention. I've searched high and low for a low price, high quality set not believing that they didn't exist. FINALLY, the Headbanger earsubs confirmed what was once a myth, you can find good quality headphones at a low price.
When I first plugged these into my PSP I was amazed. I swear, it was like an eye opening experience for my ears. Games were playing much different, as if I was missing something previously; Untold Legends never sounded better! And the best thing is they stay in my ears. There are two options so those with different sized ears can try out two ways to make them fit.
I highly recommend these. I was so impressed, I was going to buy the Universal Earsubs to use on my MP3 player and other media devices but they have since been discontinued. The PSP subs will NOT work with anything else.
