Excellent Sound,

These speakers are a welcome addition to the Sony PSP. The whole premise is pretty simple. You can either place your PSP in the included cradle and sit back and watch a movie or use the included 3 foot cable and play your games while experiencing vastly superior sound than that provided by the PSP's internal speakers. The entire system folds up and fits in the carrying case which is included. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to hear excellent sound from their PSP without having to wear headphones. The package includes the unit itself, an AC power adapter (the system also runs on 4 AAA batteries), the PSP cradle, one short cable, one 3 foot cable, and the carrying case.

After getting my PSP, I decided to find some good speakers for it so I could share MP3s and movies with friends. Logic3's attachable speaker setup is excellent, but not loud enough. When I came across this outstanding deal for Logitech's PlayGear for such a bargin price, I decided to give it a try. One word sums up the purchase: Wow! These are some fantastic sounding speakers. Even better than those I'm using for my computer. Putting the sound level up to full blast, the room I was in was filled with music on par to that of a top-notch portable stereo. Even better is that the unit can be used for your computer or MP3 player or CD player. Also, it comes with a nice 12" zipper-closing, square nylon case to hold the speakers, cords and power adapter. The only thing I don't like about the unit is the cradle used for holding the PSP. It isn't stable enough. It's good as long as the viewer is keeping the whole unit centralized in one spot. If Logitech had made it so the PSP could clip onto the main body of the unit, then it would be very easy to carry it around. Even with this slight problem, I highly recommend this speaker system to anyone on the lookout for amplifying their music and movies, either from a PSP or other portable sources.

Ladies and gentleman...please remember that these speakers will not compare to a bass system in the car as some reviewers think they should. These speakers are of high quality. They completely serve their purpose. Great design...like a miniature personal home theater. The PSP itself does not give off great sound, but Logitech has assisted in the undoing of a great idea. Especially at their price now at Amazon....Best BUy has them for $60 and you can get it here for $20 less!!! Nonetheless, worth every penny. These speakers are pretty loud for what they are. Some expect a great deal more, but these speakers are great for their purpose. They are very loud in Treble. Do not expect a lot of bass out of these. Also, do not buy into the competitors NYKO and LOGIC 3....LOGIC 3 IS NOT the same company as some people will tell you they are. And don;t be bluffed by the subwoofer on the LOGIC 3...looks promising, but how much bass could that thing get out anyway??? I did a lot of research before I bought these speakers and here is what decided it for me...a great look compared to the others out there...the fabulous low price and a trusted name...LOGITECH...SONY actually stands behind a LOGITECH product...that in and of itself should tell you which speakers to buy. Hope this review helps!!!!

Ample volume for most any situation. Clear sound reproduction for such small speakers. Logitech has been making small computer speakers for years and once again they created a great product.

I love these speakers...
I got them for my PSP but i traded it for an x-box and an IPOD nano, and they worked really good with my nano. I got these from amazon for 13.00 (give or take) so i looked around to see about how much i saved and i was expecting somewhere around 25.00-30.00 dollars. When i went to Game Crazy (EB Games) and they were there for $60.00! I was excited to see how much i was saving, and these are very high quality speakers! Needless to say, no matter what your use is, these should get the job done for your budget...

The Logitech are by far the best speakers for the PSP. The sound reproduction and style compliment the PSP. They are not as clumsy or as bulky as some of the other speakers available for the PSP. The Price is nice as well since you not only get the speakers but also a zippered case to put the unit in.
Pros ~ Great sound reproduction ~ Nice glossy black sheen ~ Power adapter included ~ Carying case ~ Two cables to either use as a Movie/Music stand and extra long to use with gaming ~ Long battery life Cons ~ No covers over speaker ports (hey what are these ""poke"") ~ Tray that holds PSP does not connect to the base of Logitech unit very solidly. ....... I can't actually find much else to complain about. Liked it so much I got one for my brothers as well.

This is a good little speaker system for the money ( I got it for $20), but in order to use it with the newer slim PSP 2000 you have to modify it in order to hook up the speaker jack. On the left side of the stand you need to cut out a notch to fit the jack in it's proper place. I used an exacto knife and a very small pair of diagonal cutters. Also there are two small unnecessary tabs on the inside bottom of the stand which I cut off. Works great!

PROs: Arrived in good time and in good condition. The sound is crisp and clear, exactly what I thought it would be. The second power cable is a major plus.
CONs: The only thing about this product that disapointed me was the fact that the cradle was made for the PSP-1001. It doesnt say that anywhere that I could find so i am letting you know.

I got this cute little speaker set a couple days ago. When I took it out of the box, I was first surprised by the pretty high quality case it comes in. The speakers fit in there quite securely, and the makers aren't lying when they say that the case is nearly as portable as the PSP itself. After being surprised by the case, I was pleasantly surprised again by the AC adapter. I have another (very poor quality) speaker set that only runs off batteries, so I'm very appreciative of the fact that you can plug these in. So, after doing just that, I hooked my Creative Zen MP3 player to the speakers to see what they sounded like. To be completely honest, I was blown away. These tiny little speakers have the crispest and most pleasant sound of any speakers I've ever heard (in the same size), and they handle the bass on even my deepest music very well. They start to get distorted when turned all the way up, but I have no desire to listen to either music or my PSP that loud (they get really loud), so it doesn't really matter. I have yet to use the speakers with my PSP, but, judging from how they sound with my Zen, I can only imagine how well they'll sound during a game or movie on it. And, for the incredibly low price of $18, this is a speaker set PSP owners can't afford to pass up.

I do not own a PSP. I bought the set of speakers to connect to my Toshiba e750 pocket pc. I did a bit of surgery on tray that is designed to hold the psp, and it does a fair job of holding the pocket pc.
The speakers are pretty loud. I hooked up my little Creative Muvo to the playgear amp for some spring yardwork in the front of my house. They were loud enough for my neighbors to give me some dirty looks, so I turned them way down. (I was playing the Def Tones) I could not be happier with the sound quality. I also have the Altec Lansing IM2 speakers. I've never liked the IM2's. They sound like doo-doo, even more so when compared with these little gems. As far as I'm concerned, the present asking price of twelve bucks is ludicrous. I'm going to order four more of these for Christmas presents. The lucky recipients will think I'm a god. The case that comes with the playgear amp is pretty neat as well. I can store my little Muvo in the case with the speakers and the cords and power supply. That way, I'm never without tunes when I want them...Not much room for anything else (except maybe four spare AAA spare batteries). I think these are the best sounding set I've heard for under 50 bucks. If you can get the current deal, you will smile every time you turn them on. |
