Well Worth Having,

A PSP screen is clear and large - and is almost a magnet for fingerprints, dust and scratches. This filter helps to protect it from damage.
In essence it's a clear plastic layer that you place down with a sticky substance on your PSP screen. You need to clean your screen VERY well to start with. We have eyeglass cleaner in the house and it worked perfectly - not a speck of dust or lint was left when we began. Then we carefully followed their instructions to lay down the screen. It went down without any problem at all, and was crystal clear once it was down. Playing through it did not present any issue, and it really does a good job of keeping oils and dust away from the actual screen surface. Highly recommended!

The secret of applying this filter,
By

This review is from: PSP Protective Filter (Accessory)
Many people have problem applying the filter. If you just peel off and apply the sticker directly, you will face the following 3 major problem:
1. Dust particles 2. air bubbles (or known as air pockets, caused by air or dust) 3. Sticker orientation accuracy To solve the above problems, here is the secret and the correct steps, not limited to this PSP filter, in fact, this secret applied to all stickers application. Do the following steps, and you will be amazed with the result. Ingredients: a. The screen protector filter b. Bowl c. hand soap, body shampoo (lotion, etc.. anything alcaline based will do) d. water e. plastic paper credit card sized or smaller which act as your lifter. Optional, use the front/back plastic cover for the sticker will do as well. f. tissue paper Step 1. Wipe the PSP screen clean 2. Fill the bowl with one or two teaspoon amount of hand soap and dilute it with half bowl of water. 3. scoop out the bubbles in the bowl as many as possible. 4. Remove both front and back side of the filter. (remember the up-side) 5. Soak the filter into the bowl and take it out with your plastic paper. (try not to use finger) 6. Apply the filter gently (while it is still little wet) 7. Adjust the filter to the correct position desired. 8. Push the liquid out with a credit card from middle to outside. 9. Wipe any water that squeezed out from the corner of the sticker as soon as soon you see it. 10. If you see dust particle (a small air pocket with a little dust dot in the middle) inside the sticker, lift it up with a plaster paper, remove the dust, and close it back. 11. repeat step 7 to 10 until it is completely dry and up to your desire. If application is not as your desired, remove the sticker, soak it back to the same bowl, clean the sticker to make sure no dust particles with the same way you lean your contact lens, and reapply. (No, you don't have to throw your filter!) Finally you got yourself a perfect application of filter and air bubble-less. This is the same technique as applying tinted film/stickers on glass windows, car windows and wind screen by the car assessories professionals. The only difference is they spray soap water on the filter instead of using a bowl (coz PSP filter is so small compared with filter for tinted glass application) Try it, you will be amazed by the result instead of apply directly without soap water.

This is an excellent screen filter/protector for the Sony PSP. It reduces the glare on the screen, it's scratch resistant and doesn't show finger prints as easily as the PSP screen. The instructions aren't 100% clear and I can see how this product has gotten some negative reviews on other sites. However, the key is to understand that filter/protector is in between the sheet with the red tab and the sheet with the clear tab. For those that say they have bubbles or the filter is too thin, they probably applied the sheet with the red tab (which is what I did initially). After noticing the filter was stuck to the sheet with the clear tab, I removed it and applied it to the PSP. No bubbles or anything. Also the filter comes with with a cloth to clean both the screen and the filter.
My one complaint would be that Hori should have made the two sheets with a color (not clear like the filter) so you could tell the different between the sheets and the actual filter. Other than that, top notch product for an extremely good price.

I had no problems with this product. I tried a few other similar screen lenses from different manufacturers previously and was disappointed with all of them.
This product was easy to use, the instructions were helpful, and the screen is just as clear as before with less glare. I highly recommend the product to anyone looking to protect their investment. It is a small price relative to an irremovable scratch across the screen.

good quality for the price, although they could have made it slightly bigger for the psp slim. make sure when applying that you get it dead center by not starting exactly from the edge as you will notice a gap on the other side if you do. in other words, as you line it up using either the left or right side edge of the screen, give yourself about a millimeter from the edge and you should be dead center with another millimeter gap on the other side.

Nearly Perfect product to protect you PSP,

After having a Pelican protector that melted onto my screen....I decided...NO MORE JUNK....I get a Hori.
It is clear and doesn't effect the image at all. It helps protect from glare as well. It is nearly impossible to scratch the screen now. I only have 2 complains. One is the protect is about 2mm to small and the sides end up sticking out.The other is it is tinted slightly blue.It is most likely is the anti-glare layer. Overall I am extremely happy an will now get a Hori protector for my DS. Don't be fooled by cheap alternatives, Hori is the best an worth the pricey price and shipping.

Amazon has this listed as a game instead of an accessory, and that's a shame since it is a great accessory.
I tried a couple of the cheaper screen protectors you can pick up anywhere, and they all left much to be desired. I came across a review for one of these and it looked better than the others so I ordered one. I'm glad I did. The Hori filter is easily the best one I have ever seen. It is thicker than other brands, which makes it much easier to apply cleanly. With some of the others it is just about impossible to get it on there cleanly and one particle of dust makes a rather large bubble under the filter. The Hori filter is thick enough to re-apply more than once so if a mote of dust gets in there you can peel it back and use a bit of tape to pull the dust off. You can then press the filter back down with no problems. I wouldn't recommend trying the tape trick on those cheaper and thinner screen protectors. You will mangle them. Also, since the Hori screen filter is thicker, it protects better. If you get it on there right after getting a PSP, it will remain scratch free indefinitely. I have used three of these so far. Not because they needed to be replaced, but because I put a new silver faceplate on my first PSP, and then later I got a Ceramic White PSP. In both cases, I made sure I had a Hori filter ready to go. When I get one of those gold PSPs I will make sure I have another one ready to install.

This is a great screen protector!
Here are some pros and cons of this product. pros 1. glare resistent(with a psp's screen its hard to see if your outside so that is one of the grand things about it) 2. reuseable (alot of other protectors can only be appled once and there is no room for mistakes. With this protector it can be used over and over again) 3. No bubbles (if applyed correctly there should be no bubbles at all but if you do, Just run your finger lightly over the screen and it should come off. If that doesn't work just reapply) Cons. 1. the directions are kinda hard to understand but its well worth the confusion. 2. you have to be really carefull not to get your fingers on the screen when applying. (make sure you have clean hands and a clean screen) overall I think this is a great protector so great infact I told my friend about it and he got it for himself.

Hori SONY PSP Screen Protector,

The Hori screen protector is far superior to other brands I have tried. I really didn't think there would be a difference in screen protectors but the Hori protectors are amazing. Other protectors I have used cause the screen look blurred and fuzzy. I thought this was something I would have to live with if I wanted to keep my PSP screen from becoming scratched. The Hori protector is so clear it almost looks as if there is not a protector on my PSP. It was also much easier to install than other brands I have tried. I would highly recommend the Hori screen protector to anyone. The only drawback I have found is that they are not sold in any stores in my local area. The only way I could get one is by ordering it over the internet.

An outstanding product. I completely agree with the other reviewer- while it may be hard to get all the dust out, once the PSP is on, you can't see it at all. As far as applying it- DO NOT GET CONFUSED. The instructions are backwards. The sticky film is on the red sticker, not the blue one. Anyways, once it's on, I can hardly tell that it's there. It does a tremendous job of protecting the screen as well. For $5, it's definitely worth it.
