PSP Thrustmaster T-X3 Battery and Grip

I bought this right before an 8-hour trip. The way that this product works is that it acts as an external charger. When your using the PSP, there is a plug on the thustmaster that plugs into the A/C input on your PSP. So your PSP doesn't use its internal battery until the Thrustmaster battery is depleted. I watched movies on my memory stick for about 6.5 hours straight on the trip. When I arrived, my internal battery was still at 100% charge. I couldn't believe it.

I have a PSP 2001 and the thrustmaster is about the same thickness as the PSP itself, so its thicker when using the thrustmaster, but still very comfortable to hold. The other really cool thing that I like about this is that the Thrustmaster screws into the top of your PSP and then can rotate. So when you aren't using it, you can flip it around so that it covers and protects your screen. That was a very welcome and unexpected feature. I very highly recommend this product!

This extra battery pack/charger is definitely pretty handy espesially on long trips. However, Be very careful on the top piece that screws down onto the psp. I broke mine the first day I had it due to the weak plastic. Bah I'll make a new piece out of metal or something, but that about the only bad thing with this item.
Note: I have a FAT PSP 5.33CF, extended life battery, & now the thrustmaster & the lil bugger still hasn't needed a recharge after a week driving cross country for the holidays. woot woot.

The Thrustmaster T-X3 battery and grip is a great accessory for the PSP. It is comfortable to hold and is very versatile. Besides being a grip it is also a stand for viewing movies, a protective cover and extended battery
life. It mounts perfectly and fits nicely in the hands. I take quite a few airplane trips and to have extra battery life and stand capabilities is great.
Bravo and well done with this product !!

I ordered this thing mainly for the grip function, the extended battery was just extra for me. It fit right onto my 2001 God of War PSP with no problems, some good points:

Not overly big
Multifunctional
Extra Battery
Can use with 3 psp models (not the go)
Charges 3 different ways
Not Heavy

This thing is light, I was expecting a huge weight increase but I was wrong. I can barely tell any weight difference. The swivel on the top seems decent as long as you don't go shoving this thing into bags or cases thinking it will fit putting pressure on it. I can see it lasting quite a while. The back on the side that slides out that has the charge plugin can also fit Pro Duo cards for storage if needed. I just put two of them in there and it closed right up. Directions were a little hard to read at first. I couldn't figure out how to screw the screws in until I realized you have to swivel the top halfway and turn it. Overall I am pleasantly pleased and I can see using this for a long time. I highly recommend it.

This is a great back up battery. Some complain about it being to big but it's perfect for someone with big hands who have trouble holding the PsP for hours at a time. I also love the feature that lets it swivel around and protect my screen. I've had to replace my PsP screen once so that's something I find very usefull. I haven't had the chance to test the claims of 8 hours extra game play, but I have got up to 4 and that's plenty enough for me. Overall great backup.

Ok, first off. The product was as expected. Battery charges and the grip rotation doo-hicky works fine and the added screen protection feature is a bonus (careful with the joints it is plastic after all). The charger for the grip uses the same charger for the psp. The cons: size of the grips, unless you have pretty sizable hands the grip will feel kinda big. I also noticed that the grip gets pretty hot when i charged it (think prolonged use of a laptop), don't know if its just a defect on mine or not. The grip as mentioned before does protect the screen to some degree but leaves you wanting. It "corkscrews" to the back and front while playing and not-playing. This leaves half of your console exposed to the elements (keys, loose change, cement floor -_-;). But again this product was meant to be a grip. I suggest getting one of those rubber skins for your psp.

Overall good product, definitely better than most grips. A must for long trips and psp zealots and if you have gorilla hands like me the grip will feel pretty nice and secure with a psp-slim.

this is a great item. the only drawback is that it has restricted charging options. in the review it said it had 3 ways to charge. I took that as i could charge the thrustmaster 3 different ways. but when i recieved the item i thought i could charge it with USB. The only way to charge it is with the orginal PSP charger, which i dont have. other than that its a great item.

It took a little getting used to. It is very light weight but add this and a skin to the PSP and it was considerably heavier. I've had it on for a couple of months now and really love it. It will charge my PSP almost twice. I've used it as a tripod on planes to watch movies and swivel it around to cover the screen when I put it away. I like the fact I can still have a skin on although it does use the holes on the top. Getting games in and out is slightly more complicated then without it but not that big of a deal. If you like having a light slim PSP then this isn't for you. I like the thicker feel for my larger hands. The underside has a soft rubber material that doesn't scratch the screen.

I bought this to go along with the PSP 3000 I purchased. Mostly because my large hands found the 3000 ever so slightly awkward, and also because I hate running out of battery in the middle of a game, so I decided to grab this even before I got the 3000 just in case.

It feels amazingly comfortable in my hands. Not awkward in the slightest. Its barely larger than an original Phat PSP when connected to the 2000 and 3000 models.

Also, due to the large capacity, It's great for road trips. If you're playing your psp, just plug it in and continue, but if you're taking a break, you can just close it up (protects your screen from nasty scratches) and use it to charge up the PSP itself. Then you've got a freshly charged battery ready to go.

It's a great deal. I recommend picking one up if you find yourself playing your psp to exhaustion often. Or if you have large hands. Or if you're like me and use your large hands to run down the battery. :)

Very nice battery and grip. Grip may be too big for those with small hands, but for average to big, this grip will be PERFECT.

I wish I could put this whole thing with PSP in a case though.
