5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly What I Was Looking For
I have a PSP 3000 and eventually got tired of the stack of UMD cases in the corner of my desk toppling over, so I went out looking for the best possible storage solution. With this case, I found exactly what I was looking for.

2.0 out of 5 stars False Expectations
I purchased this case some months ago, I actually bought 3 at the same time to try and come up with a storage solution for all of my PSP games at once. 10 bucks seemed a bit steep, but most of the reviews gave it good ratings.

I have a PSP 3000 and eventually got tired of the stack of UMD cases in the corner of my desk toppling over, so I went out looking for the best possible storage solution. With this case, I found exactly what I was looking for.

This case holds 8 UMD discs and is well-constructed. It is a little smaller than the PSP itself and both sides open using a double-articulated hinge. Perhaps the best part is that the case uses magnets to hold the discs in place and to hold itself closed. No more struggling with latches or practically breaking the disc to get it out of a cheaper case that is a little too snug. This case is simple perfection and I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Improvement, November 1, 2009

I have the older psp umd case-built like a little tank but a bit of a pain to snap in or take out the umd's. This new case is fantastic to me. No where near as bulky & heavy as the old one. I absolutely love the fact that the case holds the umds by magnet. How simple & easy it is now, no more snappin in & rippen out! A total breeze. Holds 8 umds like the old one & both sides open opposite, like an accordion, "u get used to it" I recommend. Nice case for a decent price & easy as pie to use. Go for it & protect your umds!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great case for UMD's, January 26, 2010

I usually prefer first party accessories for my gaming hardware, and Sony yet again proves that to be sound wisdom. The case is constructed very, very well. The games are held securely in place and are well protected. It's designed in such a way that it takes up only as much space as is necessary, which is good for me because I like to keep all of my PSP stuff in one small bag.

Those of us not sold on the ridiculous proposition of a PSPgo (at least, at its price point with no UMD transfer) will be pleased with this carrying case.

These are sturdy cases. Does a pretty good job at keeping the dust out too. Bought 2 of them to keep my games in while im deployed and have had no issued. They have been shoved in bags, thrown around, stepped on, etc and have not yet been damaged. Love the magnets that hold multiple cases together too.

2.0 out of 5 stars False Expectations, July 16, 2011

I purchased this case some months ago, I actually bought 3 at the same time to try and come up with a storage solution for all of my PSP games at once. 10 bucks seemed a bit steep, but most of the reviews gave it good ratings.

Without ever traveling with the case, only opening and closing it a few times, the hinge on one side broke. The pin on the hinge is a tiny tension rod, similar to what is used in a watchband to the watch. The chunk of plastic around where the pin inserts into the center part of the case broke off; the pin is only recessed in there about 1/10 of an inch.

I wish I could find a better UMD case, there just aren't many options out there.

I just got a Psp 3000 as a gift and a few games with it. I bought this because of the reviews and the fact that sony made it. I love that it uses magnets to hold the games in instead if the clips. if one of those clips broke you are outta luck. Not with this case, it's so great! i reccomend this case because it holds up to 8 umd's, uses a magnet to keep your games in and it folds out in a cool style. It's like an accordian, weird but cool once you get the hang of it which won't take long. Buy it, it's worth it!

Holds the UMDs nicely, but the covers and hinges coulkd be more sturdy. The UMDs dont fall out or anything, but this could've had a more sturdy design. Still an overall good product.

4.0 out of 5 stars PSP UMD Case Review, December 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: PSP UMD Case (Accessory)
I do have one complaint, it's too easy to open. I feel if it were dropped, it would easily jar open. So I just have a rubber band around it to keep it shut (it seems that it uses magnets to keep the case shut as well).

I do like the fact that the games are held in by magnets and not clips so they come out easily enough without excessive force. It also holds eight games, which is more than I have right now, but at least I'll have a safe place for them when I do get them. Overall, I'm happy with it, just remember the rubber band.

4.0 out of 5 stars Compact and strong, December 18, 2009

When you have to carry UMDs anywhere you can't always find them and making sure you protect them is a challenge. This case is excellent! The fold out access is really great, and the strength of the case is the best. I have dropped it, and unfortunately kicked it, but everything is fine inside. I actually ended up buying two!

2.0 out of 5 stars Weak case compared to the other Sony PSP UND case ...., August 16, 2010
By

This review is from: PSP UMD Case (Accessory)
This case is extremely weak compared to the other PSP UMD (ASIN: B000K8ZXK4) also made by Sony. The ASIN: B000K8ZXK4 case is very solid and firmly constructed, while the hinges on this case are weak and flimsy. Honestly, I feel as though this case will break in my hands. Sony did the PSP UMD users a disservice by changing the construction of the case to this weaker form. I know people will disagree with me. My Son loves this version of the case because as he says "its held together by magnets and doesn't weigh as much."

I know Sony is pushing downloading games, but having the game, movie, etc in my hand is a make or break issue for me. My hope is Sony won't ignore those of us who prefer UMD and continue to make this accessory (both formats / styles). Actually adding a UMD catalog accessory (e.g. a case that holds say 80 or more UMD) would be well received by this owner of multiple PSP-3000 systems, games, and movies.
