4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, no-frills case.
I'd been storing my PSP games in an Altoids tin (yes, they really do fit nicely) but then I'd gotten more games than would fit in a single tin and I didn't want to risk the tin opening up and damaging my games. Unfortunately most of the UMD cases out there are soft cases; the few hard cases only hold three or four discs.

This case holds up to eight UMD discs...

Before you buy any of these over-priced carrying cases that hold just 3, 4, or 8 UMDs, try some cheap but safe alternatives! Another reviewer mentioned how he used to keep his UMDs in an Altoid Mint tin -- that's a GREAT idea, but the tin is just big enough to about 5 UMDs. So I did a some thinking of what else might work and, soon I thought of those short Pringles chip...

This case holds up to eight UMD discs and two memory cards quite securely. Each disc snaps into its own little slot and are easily removed when you want them. With the case fully loaded I've opened the case and gave it a pretty vigorous shake and nothing fell out, so that's a plus. The case itself is about the size of the PSP but thicker, and is held closed by a single latch. The plastic feels cheap but is fairly strong; I'd have put a texture or something on it to improve its feel but otherwise I'm quite happy with it.

(NOTE: The case isn't "fun" but Amazon forced me to rate it, so there ya go. I give the case 4 out of 5 stars regardless, with the fifth star withheld for a better textured case.)

So I did a some thinking of what else might work and, soon I thought of those short Pringles chip cans! I wasn't certain if the can would be a perfect fit or not but, like an excited geek, I hopped right in my car & drove up to the corner convenience store! For less than $1.50, I bought a 2.8-ounce can of Pringles, took it home, dumped the chips out (well, I ate a few but -- in any case...), then I cleaned out the can with just water & paper towels, then dropped 1 UMD in there. It's ALMOST a perfect fit. The UMD sits slightly tilted (just a little bit) but, good enough! So then I placed my other UMDs in there...a total of 11, and there's still room for about 11 more! ...Until I buy more UMDs, I don't want these ones to be rattling around in there, so I crumpled up a paper towel and placed that on top. It's something soft which keeps the UMDs from moving around much. ...perfect!

The only other thing I can think of that would make an even better "carrying case", is a racquetball can, because those are made of a strong aluminum, however, I don't have one of those on-hand so don't know if the UMDs would fit quite as well. ...Anwyay, you get the idea -- there are much cheaper alternatives out there which will hold much more than just 3, 4, or 8 UMDs! ....If anybody thinks of other ideas, please test out your idea and, if it works, then post here for the rest of us to read. :)

Akin to most Intec accessories for the PSP, this is another instance of 'you get what you paid for.' While all of these Intec products technically 'work,' none, however, are either high quality nor equal to only slightly higher priced alternatives.

Yes, this DOES hold games. It's likewise durable being made of hardened plastic.

Still, this same hardened plastic, game/memory holder is nothing more than low-end plastic molding with tabs shaped like UMD and memory sticks. The same style of case often used to package products...let alone encapsulate and protect them. (For this same reason, I often ponder what would happen if Intec spent more time on finished product, less on hardshell, retail packaging.)

If you lose a tab or two from some accidential jostling, that UMD slot becomes ineffective. Ditto on too much pressure applied to the outside tab used to keep the case shut.

Still, this is one very affordable, short term fix for transporting UMD disks through airports, short trips, related. For long term solutions, however, I advise ponying the additional $5-10 dollars for better manufacturing quality.

This is a great and affordable game case! Nice price and holds more than a handful of games plus a few memory sticks. Very durable. It is always getting banged around in my backpack, and the games and case have never been damaged.

i bought this as a gift for my husband because he doesn't seem to take care of his games, the case is a little cheap feeling but it does what it's supposed to, it also has a place for the memory card, which helps keep everything together.

Pretty nice! that is all there is to say about this product - bought 2 right off the bat and it was the one of the best PSP accessories I ever got (the other being the gamer's case by the same company)

This product is a pretty good value. I love that you can hold up to 8 UMD's at a time and up to 2 Memory sticks at a time. I just had it delivered and i already love it.
Overall i say it is a very good product and i recommend it to anybody with a psp and wants to hold his or her games in a slim case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good holder, though hard to open...., September 23, 2007

There's not really much I can say about this product. It's a game/UMD movie holder, and it does just what the name implies: it holds games and UMD movies. I suppose the best compliment I can give it is to say that I just bought my third one a couple days ago due to filling up my first two. It holds my PSP cartidges nice and securely....a little too securely, I sometimes think. It seems pretty tight. But, it keeps the discs from falling out, which is a plus. The only real complaint I have is that it can be pretty difficult and painful for the fingers to open them when they're fully latched shut. I find myself pulling the top forward, past where it latches. If you have one, you know what I mean. I pretty much leave them like that, and they don't open up on me, and they also don't kill my fingers when trying to open them.

All in all, for the price, I'd recommend getting this case instead of an Altoids tin or Pringles container. I've never used either of them, but they don't seem to me to be very appropriate for over $100, sometimes, worth of games and movies. 'Course, to each his own. For me, I'll stick to the case that was actually designed for UMDs.
