5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a friendly introduction to Pspice, October 22, 2004

I have been looking around a lot for a lucid introduction to Pspice that assumes you know nothing about how to use the program. Finally I found it in this book! Unlike older books, which don't start with the assumption that you will use the graphical interface to construct circuits, this one starts by teaching you to use this useful and easy interface that is part of Pspice. Also, unlike circuit analysis textbooks, which give you little bits and pieces of how to use Pspice, this is a systematic introduction to basic circuit analysis with detailed instructions and very useful figures. Finally, I didn't have the time to work through the the 600-page free user manual supplied by the manufacturer of Pspice, a manual scant on explicit instruction and which often assumes you have the full professional version!

As for content, the brief (113 page) book starts off with installation of Pspice (a CD with Pspice version 9.2 is included), and quickly but gently brings you up to speed on how to perform analysis of DC and AC circuits in Pspice (including chapters on Op-Amps, time-domain analysis, and frequency-domain analysis of circuits).

As you can tell, I am very excited to have discovered this book: it is great for self-study, and I have finally been able to explore the power of Pspice. Experts already familiar with Pspice will probably not get much out of it, but for those beginners out there: this is the place to start!
