Installed software onto my Windows XP desktop (about 10 years old), plugged in USB adapter, used my cell as WIFI connection and it worked perfectly. Now my computer is more than just a paperweight and I can get on internet. Fairly fast, too! Took about 10 minutes to set up, and was ready to go.

Update January 2013. Still works great! Haven't had a single issue.

This is a great addition to the AIOS media player. Ideally you need to wire the media player to your network, but if it would be too much work to run wires through the house and wireless is the only option, then this works great. I have it linked to a BELKIN N600 router (i.e. 300mbps at each end). I have streamed youtube videos and they have been smooth with no stops and starts. For films, I have copied across to the AIOS first and then run them directly from the AIOS, so I don't know how it would stand up to streaming that type of content. I have literally copied about 60GB so far and it works fine. It does everything I need it to do.

How I managed to NOT use the WIFI option in my Media Player units is a mystery to me, because after adding this feature my Media expeirence took on new dimension, functionality and ease of use! These are a MUST if you buy any type of Media Player HDD unit thats does not have built-in WIFI. Surprisingly my network is only "G" not the "N" and I can stream HD video effortlessly! Great product and easy to use! Plug it into your Media unit and go to your unit's setup menu and in a few steps you're WIFI enabled!

I got this Pivos Wireless Adaper for "FREE" with my Box. Works Great with device and recommend it for the price with the box, even tho you can use other wireless companies Wi Fi adapters and not limited to only PIVOS adapters. For the reg. price of around $15, but like I said, I recieved mine during a Promotion for FREE when I added to my cart when I bought the Media Player. This is why I shop/LOOK on Amazon Everyday for these promotions/sales to take advantage. Great Product!!

Have used on a desktop and an old laptop. Had some trial and error installing, using mini CD; but got it working on both. Believe there was no prompt to restart computer, but restart was necessary. My old laptop had functioning older generation wireless, but it wouldn't accept 14 character key of secure 802.11n wireless router network. Using Pivos allowed me to connect to secure 802.11n wireless network. Bought two Pivos Wireless 802.11n USB Adapter, and may buy more.

I bought this item from Amazon.com in Oct. 2012 to increase the built-in 802.11g wireless speed on my Lenovo Z61p laptop. The software installs fine. It connects fine, but the speed is not 802.11n, no matter what I do. Compared to the internal 802.11g which runs at 54.0 Mbps, this one shows 48.0 Mbps. I cannot even run a SD-quality movie wirelessly without the constant delays. You decide which one is faster. For the price of $15, I cannot be bothered to return it.

I use it on my AIOS PIVOS and I get even better speeds that my Linksys Wireless G\N Access Point!
Videos stream flawlessly from my NAS Device to the PIVOS.
The Pivos is the best stand alone media center out there!

This USB adapter came with the AIOS HD media player I purchased. It was detected and functioned fine with the AIOS. I did not try it with any other media player or computer.
