Pur Plus Countertop Water Filter,
By Mary P. Fitzhenry (Reno, Nevada United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: PUR CT5000 Water Filter System (Kitchen)
We have had this product for a couple of years. We use in our bathroom so we don't have to have bottled water there. We need a new filter, but now I find you have discontinued the item. It is a shame such a good product has been discontinued. Are replacement filters still available?

Awesome Filter,

This product is far superior to the on-the-faucet type filters. We have broken three of those filters because the water pressure eventually cracks the housing. We have had this filter for two or three years now and have had no problems. The water tastes great and it takes up very little counter space. The filters are not cheap, but they last longer than the afore-mentioned faucet types.

Works like a huge system, just slower,

I've had the CT5000 for 10 years on my countertop. Used daily for coffee & drinking water it's been fantastic.
When the filter gets near the end of it's life the water flows out rather slowly, but still nice & pure! I've found the filters last MUCH longer than the recommended 4 to 6 months. There is a little indicator that turns red when the filter is pooping out.

Beware Filter replacement,

This product is outstanding. I have used it for 5 years, but the filters are now very very hard to find, yet you can still buy the system. I am currently searching for replacement filters and have ordered just to have them cancelled due to unavailability.

This is a great little water filter for the money. I am not sure how much stuff it filters but the water tastes great and the replacements are around $25. It is getting hard to find the replacements so beware. It is very easy to install and maintain, and I have had no leakage issues, and I have been using them for a few years.I just bought a sears dual filter unit because of its consumer reports rating but the installation is beginning to look like a hassle.

Water Filtration System,
By A Customer
This review is from: PUR CT5000 Water Filter System (Kitchen)
I have always used Pur Water Filtration Systems on all my faucets at home and after awhile the housing starts to show wear and tear from so much use. I liked the idea of this one being a countertop model instead of a faucet mount. I bought it thinking I would like it just as much as my faucet mount ones and boy was I wrong. This thing does nothing but leak. I attached the hose to the faucet per their instructions and set the thing on the counter only to come back in less than hour to find my counter drenched in water and dripping onto the floor as well. The hoses that attach to the back of the unit leak and there is no way to stop it. I am stuck with this thing because the place where I bought refuses to take it back.
