Editorial Reviews

Review

"A thrill ride in the vein of The Da Vinci Code but with a much larger vision for all of us. The alchemy is part historic fiction, part spiritual adventure, and a variety of interfaith metaphysics that metamorphosize into a golden vision of world peace . . . a page turner."
-- Paul Hertel, Martha Stewart's Whole Living

"Presents a fascinating story full of intrigue and history. Birney's fiction seamlessly blends science and religion into a tale worthy of Indiana Jones . . . The book left this reader confident that idealism is not dead and that, sometimes, it can be the road map by which we might save ourselves."
--Cynthia Warren, Daily Freeman

"Birney infuses this epic novel with feminine echoes of The Da Vinci Code and The Red Tent, with her eyes on the prize of world peace. Reporter Maggie Seline courts controversy by championing an international Jerusalem...when she disappears, women around the globe march for peace...powerful men vie for two ancient artifacts."
-- Chronogram

More About the Author

With a Masters in English Education from N.Y.U. and a Bachelors in Writing and Communications, Angelina has also been trained in the Tibetan Buddhist lama tradition and completed a three-year retreat. While traveling extensively throughout Tibet, Nepal and India, she experienced the rich cultures and spiritual traditions practiced in these lands. She received teachings on the various myths explored within Pure Vision and Tara Thunderbolt, in particular that of Shambhala, from several eminent teachers including the Dalai Lama.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Lawrence lived there for ten years before moving with his family to Libya. In Tripoli, surrounded by antiquities from the Roman era through World War II, he gained first-hand knowledge of Arab culture and its historical position on the world stage. His exploration of the underground tunnels used by Erwin Rommel's Panzerarmee Afrika is a foundational element within Pure Vision. Lawrence has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Bridgeport Engineering Institute and is a student of both Christian and Eastern mysticism.

Currently, they are developing their Pure Vision Communications imprint, CONSCIOUS KIDS, which will publish books meant to help kids become more aware of the world ― by exposing them to real life issues but doing so in an empowering and fun way. The intention is to encourage kids to become involved with what's happening in the world around them, engaging them in issues such as sustainability, the environment, and bullying, etc., while highlighting the notion that no matter how young you are, you're more powerful than you think.

Angelina and Lawrence live in New York's Hudson Valley. They are also the founders of PURE VISION FOUNDATION, a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating communication, understanding, peaceful conflict resolution and humane treatment of all beings through developmental projects, interfaith outreach, and artistic expression. Author Angelina Perri Birney uses her superb writing skills and her worldly knowledge of the subject matter, to share a unique story of political intrigue, which is woven against a backdrop of current and historical events. Her writing style openly invites readers to delve deeper into the subject matter, by exploring each page, whilst they remain guided through the book's intriguing story line. This is a story line, which in my view, is worthy and deserving of a Movie deal.

The book is able to reveal the fascinating workings and inner knowledge of how the World's movers and shakers operate, with immense intent and purpose, in order to fulfil their own objectives. This enthralling insight provides readers with the opportunity to become aware of the inner workings of those at the top, as well as those who are striving to help bring about much needed change.

In the end, readers will come away feeling encouraged and inspired, as one's support for the main character grows, and her cause is championed by others, worldwide. This support, gives rise to an empowering inner strength, which helps everyone, who becomes aligned with her cause - to stand up and challenge the establishment.

A great inspirational read, and an opportunity to embrace and learn, from the enlightening experiences of all individuals who hold the belief that, despite their circumstances, they can make a difference and no matter what the challenges are, they will prevail! Indeed, all that is required is for them to tap into their PURE VISION!

As someone who loved the Da Vinci Code, the description of this book made me think it would run along the same vein which was totally fine with me.

I found that I liked it even more than the Da Vinci Code. The second I started reading I knew this book was going to be something special and it definitely was.

The author mixes high suspense, intrigue, mystery and spirituality into a whirlwind story that had me holding my breath more than once.

It was also evident from the very beginning and throughout the book that a good amount of research was done for this story. This is definitely Not a slammed together story but instead a meticulously detailed and intricately crafted read.

This is one of the best books I have read in a long while.

Highly recommend this one.

I found this novel to be a piece of pure inspiration, as well as moving, and thought-provoking. One of the few novels that actually brought tears to my eyes with the culturally diverse womens' stories of empowerment embedded amidst the tale of adventure, mysticism, world peace promoting ideas, and edginess. Brava!

Thank you for writing this book.

When I got my purple phone book the other day I was scared. Almost 600 pages and written by intellectuals, I thought this was going to be a hard read BUT, its not. I am 100 pages into the book but that is because of the need for food, sleep and the attention my kids demand.

The book is well enginered. The short chapters keeps the book fresh and makes it easy to read. The story is easy to follow and Im being educated with out really realizing it until I book the book down.

This book is very timely and seems very real life, I wish it was.

So far the only bad thing about this book is that I didn't write it.

Are there any book signings coming up? I would like to have my book singed.

Your fan,
Matt T. Schott

In this fictional political book, I found myself intrigued from the moment I began reading. There's a lot going on---suspense, politics, feminism, spirituality, and conspiracy theories. I'm a big fan of Dan Brown so I immediately thought Pure Vision reminded me of Brown's writing style. However, the premise of the story is different and unique from Brown's books and stands out on its own.

Pure Vision is not one of those cookie cutter books with simple answers. The author really makes you think and ask yourself questions. Overall I enjoyed the book, and found it refreshing and intriguing compared to other Kindle books I've read. I'm interested to read what other works the author has.

What a completely engrossing read! I found myself caught up, as if I too were
on the women's march to Jerusalem, and energized by their vision of what could be.
The depth of research is impressive. Once I started, I couldn't put down Pure Vision.

My friend recommended this book to me, she told me it was one of the best books she has read in quite awhile. I was pretty excited to see what she was talking about because we have similar tastes AND I was leaving on a long boring plane ride.

Well, as usual, my friend was absolutely right. The book is so well researched and the way it was written makes it so easy to read.
All of this in spite of the fact that the plot itself is very complex and intriguing. The characters were well fleshed out and developed. There were quite a few different characters but I never felt confused at which one was which.

In the end I spent the entire six hour plane ride reading this book, and was actually sad to have the plane land! I couldn't wait to get to my hotel so I could finish reading it by the pool.
Basically, I loved it and will be recommending it to all my friends. Pay a good thing forward like my friend did to me!
