FAST-PACED, HARD-HITTING THRILLER,
By A Customer
This review is from: Purgatory (Paperback)
THIS NOVEL GRIPS FROM THE VERY START WHEN OUR HERO, MILD MANNERED TEACHER MICHAEL GREENWOOD ENCOUNTERS AN ANNOYING YOUNG MAN ON A TRAIN AND MAKES A DEROGATORY THROW-AWAY COMMENT ABOUT HOW UNPLEASENT THIS GUY MADE HIS JOURNEY IN A RADIO INTERVIEW TO PROMOTE HIS NEW BOOK. LITTLE DOES MICHAEL KNOW, THE ANNOYING GUY 'STEVE' HAS HEARD HIS INTERVIEW AND IS A RAVING PSYCHO TO BOOT, WHO SETS HIS TWISTED MIND ON REVENGE. TIM WILSON'S GRIPPING PROSE PROPELS THE READER FROM ONE TIGHTLY-WRITTEN SCENE TO THE NEXT, CRANKING UP THE TENSION TO THE INEVITABLE, THRILLING FINALE. THIS KIND OF PYSCHO-GOES-AFTER-PERFECTLY INNOCENT-EVERYDAY-KIND-OF-BLOKE PLOT IS HARDLY ORIGINAL, BUT WILSON'S PROSE AND DIALOGUE IS FRESH AND FRANTIC, COMPELLING YOU TO THE END OF THE 250-ISH PAGES. RECOMMENDED READING FOR THRILLER FANS.
