Product worked as expected; weak on directions, no detailed info on proper charging. Battery deteriorated quickly 5 uses and it is all but shot.

Note for new users the boat has one speed, full, steers by prop speed. No reverse.

Does what you would expect.

Recently purchased the PX-16 RC boat runs great, but for only short time ( 5 min. tops )as the battery runs down prematurely. Purchaseed another 7.2 v battery & it is far superior & lasts 15 min.

It was good but you have to buy a new batteries because its not good. The batteries life its 10 minutes.

This boat is fast, durable and runs a long time without a recharge. I bought the extra battery pack (which I do recommend), but we don't always need it. You can easily get an hour or more between the two packs. It is much faster than what I anticipated. It's loads of fun! My only regret is not buying two of them, so we could race. I think this was my six year old's favorite Christmas gift. My only advice is to follow the warning. Don't use the boat around any rocks. The propeller will snap off easily. However, they do send a couple of extra ones with the boat. This is an excellent buy.

The first boat we received from Santa would only work if you touched the receiving antenna to the transmitting antenna. Obviously not good for an RC toy. I assume it's because the transmitter is 40mHz and the receiver is 27Mhz. Fortunately Santa's workshop was not far from our home. We now have a replacement that works, but water leaks into the motor/battery compartment within minutes of play. I'm still working on solutions for this problem. On the plus side, it has the right speed for our swimming pool and turns well.

The boat arrived on time but that is where the good news ended.... It didn't work, after a lengthy inspection I figured out why. The wires were not properly soldered at the on/off switch of the boat. One was hanging down and when I touched the other wire it also fell off.

Very poor workmanship....the posts that connect the cockpit part of the boat were also both broken and the stickers were all peeling off. The tube that holds the antenna was too big for the hole that is drilled in the boat. Also, the connectors for the battery were so loose that I couldn't get it to plug into the charger or boat.

Now luckily I am a handy guy and did not want to disappoint my kids with a picture of what they almost got for Christmas.....(if I wasn't such a procrastinator I would have had time to return it and pick a different boat and manufacturer). So I hard wired the boat without the use of a on/off switch.....drilled a bigger hole for the antenna tube and repositioned the cockpit post and drilled the holes better so it would fit, also glued all the stickers back on that peeled off.

Ok, so the boat didn't get good reviews before I purchased it....most were due to the battery being poor....no big deal, I ordered a bigger and better one...the 3800 with Tamiya connectors. So sitting on my kitchen table, I got it running. I'll update this after Christmas to see if it sank when we put it in the water....I'm sure that is next based on what I've seen so far. This boat would have to shoot a rooster tail of fire 30' long to make me think that I made a good purchase.

UPDATE - Well suprisingly it didn't sink but it is not that fast...I also bought the 23" Balaenoptera Musculus Radio Remote Control Racing Boat which is much faster...The bigger battery had it running longer than we were interested in playing with it (about 15 minutes with plenty of juice left). I wanted to race them but they are on the same frequency so I'll have to figure out how to adjust that. All in all, this looks COOL but that's about it. Spend your money on a better boat, there are plenty of them out there.

We had this boat in a calm ocean, but it still managed to get some water splashed on it (only having one speed makes it difficult to control) - amazingly, the top cover of the boat has no seal or waterproofing, so the water went right into the motor compartment. After that it was toast, as the motor shaft on one side froze up. The internal motors and wiring are not protected against water at all, any intrusion will likely rust or corrode the motors.

Boat is boken down after 5 minute of play. Remote control is not working. It was fun for 5 minutes before it was broken down. Don't waste your money.

My 10 year old boy has been very happy with the boat. It was as described and has performed well. Only suggestion... I would order an extra battery as it never lasts long enough. We get about 15 minutes of hard driving out of it.

I love the boat, especially for the money. What I don't like is the battery. It takes 4 hours of charging and you get about 5 minutes of run time. Also there is only 1 speed, wide open or nothing. If I could find a better battery, I would love this toy.
