this is nearly hobby grade in detail needs at mimimum a 3000 ma nmhi battery. gold tamiya connectors or deans or gold pins connectors for battery would be higly recommended. drill 1/8 hole to drain water under the small deck protrusion center of stern to extract water quickly. install foam floation in front of boat balances the hull out nicely.Also recommend adding trim tabs . Decals arevery good but some really are toy like in appearance . Pealed those off with WD 40 and sharp knife Need a way to lube the drive shafts before and after each run. Suggest lube tube soldered on and clear drilled about 1 inch from motor end of drive shaft. really runs well for such a large boat with toy grade motors. Should really fly with brushless conversion. :)

Got this as a birthday present for a kid. It is huge! Way more substantial and hardy than I thought. Battery only lasts 15 min but I have a quick charge power station from radio shack that is fits into so we can charge it in 15 min instead of the 6 hours it say it takes. It rips in the water. Totally worth $50.

I got this along with a 23" Balaenoptera Musculus from Amazon too see which would be a better choice in mid class RC I have seen quite a few and own 24 boats from Walmart too Race class and Enthusiast. This boat did well against the Blaenoptera as it sank the third time out. It is pretty big but not has heavy as most bigger boats. The reason being it is made from thinner plastic much like packaging you see for your camera battery or the ridiculous stuff you need scissors to open. It plains well and handled great but it did arrive broke as the power wire was broke from the circuit board. But I soldered it back fairly easily. It turns very fast and surprised my wife with speed. It's a nice midgrade RC worth the f50ty d0ll$r price tag. Just be prepared to resolder some connections.

I purchased one of these boats from this seller. It arrived on time, but when I opened it I noticed that the tape on one of the ends was cut and the box had appeared to have been opened. When I inspected everything I noticed that the two spare props were missing. The charger was in two pieces and the prongs were bent. I opened the boat up and seen a lose wire in the bottom of it. It was the wire from the motors to the on/off button. I immediately contacted Amazon and sent the piece of junk back. I will not reorder this boat from anyone. It really was poorly constructed.

The first boat was defective with a misalligned prop shaft. The second boat arrived in a sealed Amazon box, but the factory box was open and the boat was used (I have pictures). The rudder was bent from improper packing, scuff marks all over product, grease from the motors on the inside of the boat and one motor inoperable. The third boat was dead out of the box. I am very disappointed that I have gone through this three times. I helped my ten year old son purchase this with his own money and did not have super high expectations based on the price point. I did expect working merchandise. I suggest taking the product off the website.

People need to lighten up about products they order online. I've been an Amazon customer for over a decade and rarely have I had problems with a defective item. Stop whinning and return it. And, most importantly, if you can afford a more expensive model go for it Daddy Warbucks and lighten up.
I've ordered at least 10 remote control boats from Amazon this summer. I only had problem with one. They sent the replacement boat overnight to our summer home in Michigan and all was well. There's more important things in life to be "upset" about. And yes, I'm studying for my Masters in Psychology so I tend to be an online therapist as well, :-)
