I didn't know whether I should go with the 8 dollar microphone stand that has both the microphone stand and clip or buy the more popular microphone stand (~$13) and a shure clip (~$3). I decided to go with this because the reviews aren't too shabby. I'm so glad I did. I saved some cash and this sand gives me exactly what I needed. I was afraid the construction would be full on plastic, but surprisingly, the stand is completely metal and it's very well weighted so my microphone isn't falling back. This was a great buy and I'm definitely really satisfied with it considering the price!

This is a nice little mic stand. I bought it to use on the kick drum in drum recordings. You can certainly get this to sit high enough for that purpose. I've used it as a desktop mic stand as well, but I had to set it on top of a short box to get it to sit high enough for me to talk into, and I'm a woman of average height. But that didn't bother me at all seeing as it didn't mess with the sound. The one downside to this stand is that the clip is made as a 3/8 instead of the more common 5/8 weave. This wasn't a big deal for me seeing as I happened to have an adapter on hand, but for anyone who wants to use a mic that won't fit in the provided clip may have problems with this.

The mic stand works exactly as advertised, the only reason it did not get a 5 star review from me is it has padded feet so it won't scratch your desktop (because the legs are metal)and two of the three pads had already fallen of in it's transit to me before I had even opened it, and the third shortly thereafter, nothing a little superglue won't fix, and certainly still very worth the price, but still frustrating to have to glue a new product back together.

It seems I have received an order that has been previously returned, due to the fact that the box it came in was closed with regular scotch tape. Once taking it out, I noticed that every component was loose, so I had to tighten everything up.

One thing I've noticed is that the tightening screw to hold the adjustable stand up isn't very good, as it doesn't tighten very well. Also, I wish the feet had some rubber on it to prevent it from easily sliding around on the table.

Another point that I should mention is that the stand isn't very good at absorbing impacts from the table (even the legs of the table). A good mic stand would have some sort of absorbing material around the adjustable pole (for a lack of a better word) like rubber or foam to help absorb some of the impacts, however this stand lacks it. It even picks up the vibrations of my pull-out-keyboard drawer from my desk.

But there was a few positives about this stand that prevents me from returning it.
The mic holder is removable, and it uses a 3/8 thread. I have the Samson Go-Mic, and this fits perfectly with the mic. That was a huge plus for me, since not very much desk mic stands have a 3/8 threading. Also, with an added 6-inch pop filter, the stand holds up quite well. With the added weight, the stand feels more sturdy than it did without weight.

For my purposes, I keep the stand at minimal height, and it fits the Go-Mic with a pop-filter, so the stand serves me well.
However, if you are planning to actually use an actual standard microphone, and want to adjust the stand to a higher stance, I have doubts that the stand will support the mic well.

I can recommend this stand to users of the Samson Go-Mic (with the removal of the mic holder), but I can't for other users.

Overall this is a good quality microphone, compact, and very portable. A few words of caution though, make sure that the model you're getting has metal legs (it looks like this one does) as I got one with metal and one with plastic, and the plastic one was flimsy, toppled over on my desk and broke my condenser microphone.

That said, even with the metal ones you have to be careful about you you balance your microphone because it has a chance of toppling over, and don't attach any store-bought pop filters; the added weight make it very tippy.

If you get the Samsung Go Mic (Samson Go Mic Compact USB Microphone - Plug n' Play) it works perfectly (using threads not the clip) and it gets the Go Mic away from the whirring of your laptop fan.

I was excited to have a stand to mic guitar speakers for combo amps while still on the floor, but this was a disappointment. The knob that locks the stand in when moved to the desired position broke immediately, and the microphone clip was useless and would not maintain a height that would keep the microphone pointed in the right direction. Ended up getting a refund on this. Amazon is awesome so they let me keep it, but I have no use for a broken mic stand so it'll most likely end up in the garbage.

I purchased these to use my Ipad with an Iklip in a table on the place where I perform, so I have the chance to have at reach the tracks right at the side of the mixing console. Before I was using a regular mic stand and I had to put it at the side of the table, and because the place provides the equipment, now I have the chance to use another mic stand for minor percussion or to invite another person to perform. Tiny but strong, this mini stand holds the weight of the Ipad along with its LifeProof case and the weight of the Iklip itself. Looks that will last for years, Pyle-Pro is a company that was at the level of Gemsound or Gemini, and as Numark gained reputation, they are on the same path, with affordable prices. For years I have a direct box from Pyle-Pro that compared with name brand ones I saved 80% on the price, and still is working perfect.
