Does the job just as it should. It appears to trap most of the debris (string algae, palo verde, mesquite and oleander plant junk) on the outside of the basket without really restricting the flow. I installed a Y-split on the end of my 2" piping and attached 2 of these strainers. I pluck the junk off every couple of weeks - the flow at the outlet does not change when I do.

This strainer is well built and appears quite durable so long as it isn't physlcally abused. It does a nice job of keeping both large and small clogging objects from clogging the line. When compared with a metal strainer, this item's only "con" is it's light weight. However, this doesn't hinder its performance in any way. It performs as well as any strainer I've owned, at a considerably lower price.

These are a little fragile, dropping them hard on anything solid and its a good chance they will break. However, they do not scratch boat finishes like a metal one will and I use this for emergency pumpouts of boats and salvaging sunk boats, so they have to be replaced now and then. I like how low profile they are and they will pull water as shallow as 2.5 inches.

Looks like it was made well, I have not had a chance to use it, but it looks like it should do the job just fine for my needs
