Once installed, the grips are quite comfortable and fill the hand nicely.

What you'll have left is a bend, or "flare" at the top of the grips which exposes the stainless interior at the top of the handle.

I should have listened to the negative reviews. After trying for an hour to get the grips installed, I contacted Pachmayr (Lyman Products). They conceded that they may be "a little tough to install"....their words not mine. They gave me a few tips...a) use a vise b) use a hair drier to soften the grips c) try installing without the backstrap d) remove evcess rubber from the screw holes. Nothing worked and after 2 very frustrating hours, I packed up and returned the grips. Pachmayr is aware of the problem and rather than supplying a longer screw (cosing maybe a few cents), they choose to give their customers "tricks" to work around it. I will never order Pachmayr grips again. Five stars to Amazon for making the return easy and painless.

These grips are darn near impossible to get on. You'll need to use two vice clamps to tighten the grips enough for the screw to connect them. What you'll have left is a bend, or "flare" at the top of the grips which exposes the stainless interior at the top of the handle. I simply don't understand why this company did not send a longer screw to account for the added width of their grips. The end result is that it will take you an hour to get the grips on, only to discover they don't hug the frame.
I admit, the grips feel great... but they look like crap when you finally get them on.

I love the feel of this grip compared to the stock. I didn't have any issues getting the grip on or getting the screw to connect. The only two issues I have are as follows:

1. The grip needs to be slightly taller so that it completely covers the handle at the top. There is a bit of a space.
2. The notch at the top that allows the safety to move down needs to be thinner because it interferes with the safety.

So, Pachmayr needs to do a slight redesign on this grip to make it perfect...

Don't misunderstand, these are outstanding grips. Perfect...if they fit. And they do. But....the original Walther grip screw is too short to maker the install complete.
It's about 3mm too short. Highly disappointed. A compatable grip screw should be included otherwise include the specifications of the exact screw required. Also the back strap piece is way too thin. Decided to re-install the original grips until they get their act together or another alternative becomes available. My PPK is an Inter-arms manufacture.

The grips do not fit my Walther PPK - it should have been the mirror image of what has been supplied

As reported in other reviews...grips were extremely hard to install. It took nearly an hour to finally get them on...and the only reason I succeeded was reading some of the other review with their tips on how to do it. The failure of Pachmayr to include a screw long enough to ease installation is a case of penny smart and pound foolish. Really, how much profit would they lose by including a proper length screw? I will never buy another pacmayr grip if Hogue makes a grip for the same pistol.

I found my Dad's old Walther PPK he had given me decades ago and decided to clean it up and see how it shoots. Outstanding! The only issue were the grips of the PPK. Ultra cheap looking and feeling, so I decided to look for some replacements, I wanted something grippy and the Pachmayr was the only thing I could find that came close to fitting my PPK so I ordered the PPK/S grips and hoped for the best. After six hours of modifying with a dremel tool, refitting and then cutting down again I had a pretty good fit that appeared to work well with the action. Took the PPK to the range and had at it. First clip was fine. Grips felt great and then got into the second clip. Got off one round and then PPK jammed and would not fire. Cleared the jam and tried again, and it was obvious the grip was intefering with the action spring that runs up the back of the butt. The soft rubber of the Pachmayr grip was getting intwined with spring of the PPK and there was no way to modify the grips to clear the spring. I gave it my best shot but the Pachmayr PPK/S grips cannot be modified to use with a PPK. I don't hold this against Pachmayr hence the three star rating. If you want new grips for a PPK you will need to go with the wood grips.

Absolute junk. Read the other reviews and believe what they say. These grips are absolutely impossibile to install. I tried 5 times and gave up...........sent them back. I was skeptical of the reviews because I'd had a similar grip to these before, for my Colt Mustang .380 back in the 1980's, and didn't have any issues. The problem is, the QUALITY was much better back in the day for Pachmayr. The quality now is non-existant.

Don't waste your time and money. These are complete junk and not worth five cents. The ONE positive is Amazon's flawless and pain-free return process! Kudos to them for making it easy to return.
