Editorial Reviews

None of the previous Jose Luis Fernandez LEDESMA Q. releases could completely prepare the listener for "Sol Central" (2000), his most recent collaboration with vocalist-percussionist Margarita BOTELLO ! Our man provides the composition, keyboards, kalimba, ocarinas, voices and sound manipulation, while guests (Including ALQUIMIA and German BRINGAS) fill in the gaps with additional voices, woodwinds, trumpets, drums and loops. Ethnic musics, complex rhythms, shimmering melodies and a strong electronic component are all embedded within the fabric of the album, at times giving it a very avant-garde face, while at other times a relaxed and spiritual nature. The overall effect is quite stunning and unique ! The duet strikes back today with "La Paciencia De Job", jointly published by the Musea and Luna negra labels in the year 2006. Once again, the listener is going to be greeted with an incredibly subtle and complex music, mixing electronic, ethnic and classical music with progressive rock, to create a sort of experimental music, which will remind sometimes Jan GARBAREK (With THE HILLIARD ENSEMBLE), sometimes THINKING PLAGUE, and often no-one else but Jose Luis Fernandez LEDESMA Q. & Margarita BOTELLO ! Sometimes contemplative, always suggestive, intense and colourful, this beautiful music is played by numerous guests on violin, cello, saxophone, horn... Listening to this modern symphonic music is a beautiful experience to live !
