4.0 out of 5 stars sounds great, but FAR from "plug-and-play"
Installed the AAI-CHY a couple of weeks ago in my 2008 Jeep Patriot, along with a Polyplanar IC-3.5PM MP3 Adapter - worked fine at first, but then when I started my Jeep a few hours later and toggled through the modes, the auxiliary option was no longer available.

After taking my dash apart, disconnecting/reconnecting with the same results, and after much...

2.0 out of 5 stars Stopped working after 2 months...
I gave 2 stars to the product just because when it worked it had good sound quality... It stopped working after 2 months of non-intensive use...

I disconnected and reconnected the device and it was working again but I just had the right channel in both inputs...

I will now contact amazon for warranty but I do not recommend this product...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality, April 15, 2011

This product is inferior. I purchased it because there were so few options for my vehicle to add an aux input. I bought one that simply did not work out of the box and returned it for a refund. Giving it a second try I bought another. The electrical connectors are very poor quality and work themselves free under normal driving vibrations. I finally superglued them on. The unit lasted another two months and then simply died. I had it operational under normal conditions for about four months total. There are also poor directions on where to disconnect the satellite radio module. By the way, on my 06 Durango, the sirius unit is in the back of the vehicle above the headliner in the roof space. Remove the plastic trim by prying carelully down then reach in between the liner and the roof, it's on the right side. This unit is not worth the money - poor quality and support.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time, November 12, 2011

Just as other reviewers have said, the wiring on this is shoddy at best. The left audio channel wire was loose from the connector that goes in to the back of the radio. I just placed an order for the PIE CHRY04-AUX which unfortunately isn't a Prime item but will hopefully be of superior quality. Note that PIE has two parts depending on whether or not you are going to use the Satellite or VES port on your stereo. Make sure you get the right one.

If using the VES connector: CHRY04-AUX
If using the Satellite connector: CHRY04-AUX/S

Of course, Amazons return process is the best out there so I just printed my return labels and this piece of junk is going back.

4.0 out of 5 stars sounds great, but FAR from "plug-and-play", September 10, 2011
This review is from: Pacific Accessory Corp AAI-CHY Chrysler Dual Auxiliary Input (Electronics)

After taking my dash apart, disconnecting/reconnecting with the same results, and after much research, I decided to hardwire the unit to a switched power source (yellow wire from AAI-CHY unit to pink/black wire at the cigarette lighter) and it has worked fine since - sounds great, no static, hissing, etc. Not exactly "plug and play", but in the end, worth the extra effort. So much better than my old FM transmitter.

Installation was straight forward and didn't take long. Audio quality was fair but the volume was way too low, and thats just the beginning.
After a few months, it just stopped working. I pulled the radio, disconnected the unit for a few minutes, then plugged it back in and it started working again. About a month later it has stopped working again and I'm just going to remove it and throw it away.
This thing really is a piece of junk and I do not recommend it at all.

2.0 out of 5 stars I also have the problem with the left-channel cutting out, February 15, 2011

It works well out of the box but is ultimately unreliable for an automobile application.

If I wiggle their supplied harness then the left channel will cut in and out. Guess what also causes the wire to wiggle... driving over speed bumps, turning left, and starting my car.

I contacted Pac Audio regarding how to get a more reliable wiring harness but they didn't bother to email me back or return my call. I'm sure they realize all of their Pac Audio products suffer the same defect.

If you're an audio expert capable of repairing their harness then this is a good way to go. If you're a novice looking to add an AUX input then you should stay away.
