Is not as easy to use as it claims, May 2, 2007
This review is from: Pacific Accessory Corp IPAC-HOME Home Theater iPod Docking Station (Electronics)
I thought it was a simple task that I was trying to accomplish, but apparently I was wrong. All I wanted to do was watch the videos and movies that I have on my iPod with my TV. This contraption "works" only if your tv has an s video input and it seems to work only with certain brands of tvs.
My tv does not have s video so I went and bought an RF adapter which of course is made for this type of problem. The RF adapter would not recognize that the iPAC was on and therefore would not play. So I tried a different type of RF adapter and it still would not recognize it.
I then went to my sister's TV(which has an s video jack) and it would not recognize it either. So I tried another TV belonging to another relative and it finally worked. The picture was somewhat distorted and very scratchy. I recommend that if you buy this product be sure that your tv has the correct jacks. If it does not plan on spending alot of money to get it to work. I strongly suggest buying the $100 set from Apple because it was made for this type of usage.
I know I tend to rant but I hope I got my point across

Mostly great,, easy to use, nice Beach Audio customer service, June 13, 2007
This review is from: Pacific Accessory Corp IPAC-HOME Home Theater iPod Docking Station (Electronics)
Although I had to return the first unit because the remote was not functioning properly, Beach Audio did a great job of sending a quick replacement that works nicely.
I had no problem connecting it to both of my stereo receiver audio and video connections through the provided a/v cords (the red, white, yellow ones). I'm even able to connect to S-video if I need to. The sound quality is superb, as good as my surround sound will supply. The video quality is lacking, but I feel that is a fault of the iPod.
The unit DOES NOT display the menus on screen to your TV, but if you have the unit close enough to read, navigating the screens is easy with your remote. It works great to put on shuffle or playlist, so all you have to do is hit next. Volume up and down is also a good feature on the remote. Not sure of the remote's reach capabilities, but works fine around the den.
Sometimes you have to "wake-up" the unit if you haven't used the remote for a while, but it is fairly responsive.
