5.0 out of 5 stars I'm so glad I bought this bike!
This is a great bike - I just love it! Only thing is the color is bluer than shown in the picture, but I don't really care. It rides great - really smooth. Love the easily adjustable seat. I added a wicker basket in front and a rack on the back. The handle grips are comfortable, too. It's perfect. If you're thinking about buying this bike, go for it.

I bought this bike for my wife for her birthday. Our kids are using their bikes more as they grow up and Mommy wanted a simple single-speed, beach cruiser style bike for herself. The price on this bike with Amazon Prime free shipping was very attractive. I have read enough of the reviews of the Chinese-made Pacific Cycle bikes to know I was rolling the dice. A lot of people have been very disappointed with what came out of other carton.

After assembling it and putting 25 miles on it (yes, I've been riding the girl bike; sigh), I would describe it as adequate. It is cheap. The front wheel is out of round. The fender fit is barely passable. The decals were haphazardly slapped to the frame. I could very easily see someone assembling this bike and deciding it was unacceptable. That said, I have attached a trailer bike to it and have had some really fun rides with the kids. It is very pretty to look at. It has accomplished the minimum.

If your price range is $100 to $150, it really comes down your priorities. If you want something delivered to your door that may not be ideal out of the box but gets it the job done, this bike is adequate. But if you have time to surf Craig's List and look for a used, better constructed bike, you may be happier going that route.

I ordered this bike TWICE and both times it came with pieces that would not fit. MOLDED steel that did not fit. Amazon was great and took it back both times and it saddens me to see it back for sale. They got a bad batch and I never thought I would have a negative thing to say about Amazon, but they do not check these and it was very disappointing both times to wait for it, and then have to return it for SAME problem. Pedal did not fit into slot! Same problem on both bikes.

Just received this bike last week...the other reviews were right, I should have listened. The bike had scratches on it in several places and the stickers are falling off. The cheap fenders are bent and rub on the tires. The brakes don't really work, hope you don't have to stop fast because you will not be able to!! Poor quality! Disappointed. Now I have to deal with returning it and taking it apart!

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty but Low Quality, July 28, 2010

I just got the bike for my friend's birthday gift. And I though I would do her a favor by assembling it and adding a basket for her. The assembly is fairly easy as long as you have a + screwdriver, wrench, and the hexagonal thing like a screwdriver (sorry i don't know exactly what it's called). I'm a girl and did it by myself. It was a little disappointing to see that the low quality of the bike. The saddest part was that the metal fenders were bent and barely fit over the tire. The handles didn't have the metal piece at the end (although that doesn't really matter). And there were parts of it that had dents/paint scratched. It did look new since the paint looked perfect in the parts that are most visible. The white chaincase was kind of bent also. Since the damage didn't look too severe, I thought overall, it was cute and pretty so it would be okay for her to have as a fun bike. (maybe with new fenders, even if it's not really necessary here in Southern CA)

Anyways, I did a little test run in my house after I made it. This is what made me even more disappointed; the tires rub on the kickstand! So the bike was vibrating and not going the way it should have. I realized it wouldn't work as a birthday gift in this condition, so I called AMAZON. They were very nice about having a new one sent and free return shipping on this one. I really hope the new one I get is in better condition (I will update with the quality of the 2nd one). The only problem is that it is a hassle to take this one apart and take it to mail it back, wait for the new one and make it again, and cross my fingers that it will be a good one.

The color is more of a sky/baby blue.. I hoped for a lavender/light blue but still pretty. And the stickers are not neatly done (almost peeling on this one).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little bike for the price., June 20, 2010

The bike came packaged in a box within a box, which gave it extra protection against UPS' abusive treatment. While the assembly is simple, this ol' lady had to get the neighbor to tighten up the seat and handlebars. The distance between the seat and the handle bars is a bit closer than a typical cruiser style bike, but once I got used to it, it really wasn't a big deal. I would not classify this as a cruiser/coaster type bike, as it does take some (although easy) continuous pedaling to keep it going. Since I bought it to get some exercise, this is a plus for me. I am impressed with the quality and look of the bike.

I was a little sketchy after reading some of the other reviews about parts missing, etc, but after much shopping around I decided this was the bike for me. Within my price range and nothing too fancy. Just a nice looking bike that I could ride around to do some errands on the weekend. I received the bike very quickly. Within days of ordering it. The box was in perfect condition and nothing was missing. I did however opt to have it assembled at a bike shop for an extra $40 dollars as it looked kinda complicated and I didn't have the proper tools on hand. It was ready within 24 hours. I rode the bike home from the bike shop and I loved it. You do get what you pay for. There was some paint chipped and the chain makes a weird rattling noise but other than that..I absolutely love it. It rides well and doesnt feel cheap. Exactly what i was looking for leisurely rides around the neighborhood.

2.0 out of 5 stars crappy, March 12, 2010
This review is from: Pacific Capeland Women's Cruiser Bike (26-Inch Wheels) (Sports)
Quick shipping..thats the positive. We had the bike put together only to find out that the stickers were all peeling off, there was a major crease dent in the back fender, the brakes make a weird noise and every time the pedal goes around, there is a rattling coming from inside of the steel shaft. Maybe it's left over staples since the box also came with an empty box of staples in chinese writing. Amazon offered a 20% discount refund and since we got rid of the box, I didn't have much choice. Told the kids to put on an IPOD and they wont hear any noises! I should have listened to the other reviews that said it was crap!
