4.0 out of 5 stars Nice all purpose comforter
We received this as a wedding gift and its been a really good addition to our household. We had another down duvet but it was heavy and really not useful during the summer in the Northwest, when the evenings get cool but not cold. This is really useful year-round, except possibly in the dead cold months. However, you could then just throw another blanket on top for uber...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality! Feathers everywhere!
It does keep you warm yes BUT at what cost? The feathers were EVERYWHERE with this comforter! I've used my previous comforters without a duvet and it was fine but this one was impossible as I saw full sized feathers all over the bed and the room with each use. Finding a duvet that actually fit this odd sized comforter was another challenge. I'm very disappointed after the...

We had another down duvet but it was heavy and really not useful during the summer in the Northwest, when the evenings get cool but not cold. This is really useful year-round, except possibly in the dead cold months. However, you could then just throw another blanket on top for uber warmth thanks to the down insulation.

This is my first purchase from the Pacific Coast Feather Company and I just love it! I first came upon this brand via staying at the Ritz Carlton in NYC and just had to have it. I highly recommend this comforter to anyone who wants to have a good night's rest!

4.0 out of 5 stars great so far!, March 25, 2004

I've had this for two weeks and am really happy with it. The down stays in place, and it's been warm on cold nights, and not too hot on warmer nights. Good price too!

5.0 out of 5 stars no regrets, April 17, 2006
This review is from: Pacific Coast Feather Essential Year-Round Warmth Full-Queen Down Comforter (Kitchen)
I bought this comforter 2 winters ago and I am so thankful I got it. It provides great insulation (note: you have to provide the heat first) and maintains just the perfect level of warmth for me. And it is perfectly ok to wash it - did it to mine. Just use a big front-loading washer (in laundromats) and dry it with tennis balls. At low temp, my full comforter took about 1.5 hours. Haven't tried it at high temp, though.

And here are a couple of things that might bother some:
- the out of the box smell. Well, it's goose down and feather, what more can I say? But don't worry, it won't stay long. Best removed if you air it first but since it's the dead of winter when I bought it, airing it outside wasn't really a practical thing to do. Smell disappeared in no time (about 2 days) while spread out in my room.

- cover may be too crisp. But it didn't bother me. What did was the sensation of coldness at first contact. But the duvet cover took care of that for me. Or if you don't have one, it is advisable to put something between you and the comforter like a fleece blanket or a cotton sheet.

Based on the reviews below, I purchased this comforter and it was really a good decision! It's very warm and with flannel sheets, I'm perfectly comfy all night. I even wake up still "warm" and don't need to turn the heater on in the morning even though it's 5:45am in the rainy Bay Area. Great product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great find!, February 27, 2006

I have always had trouble finding down comforters that were fluffy enough for my taste. I never wanted to spend the money and then I ended up with flat and shedding comforters. This purchase was the best purchase I have made to date regarding my bedroom. There is a reason that this comforter is used at Hilton and Marriott!!

This comforter was ok for the price. Warm but the cover is not very soft and makes a bit if noise.
