I bought this for a planned hike on the PCT. A very valuable source. Good to get the updated version anytime you plan on doing it. It is small and light enough to carry along. I didn't make it in 2002 but was able to "attempt" it in 2010. Glad I had it with me. My son did 2,000 miles of the trail using this book.
