I just received this burner from Amazon.com and installed it just a few days ago. Since there are no reviews from other customers let me be the first to tell you about this burner.
The burner itself is very nice, and easy to install. I am not very computer literate, but I got it in no problem. Just do not depend on this so called manuel they have with the product, because it doesn't give you much to go on. Although, the company does give you a website to go and download the manuel.
After I got the burner into my tower, I installed the software called "NTI CD-Maker," it was easy to install, but there is a glich with the one that they give you. When I went to drag and drop mp3's into the box for burning, it kept coming up with an illegal operation message, but that is easy to fix. Just go to the company's site and upgrade your version with no problem, they will even send you a new CD if you request. The software is very easy to use from what I have discovered so far, of course I haven't burned to much yet. The burner burns really fast, and I am all around happy with this product.
It has a good price for the quality, plus you can get a one year warranty on parts, one year of technical support, etc...when you fill out the form and send it in. This product was also consider the best buy by PC World. So have fun with it!

I have used the CD burner for 6 months and it has worked great. I recommend getting Nero Burning ROM 5.5 over using the burning software packaged with the CD drive. Nero is the best burning software out there - better than Roxio Easy CD creater, which created worthless coasters about 15% of the time. With Nero I create coasters about 2% of the time.

The CD burner installed easily. A friend of mine told me that about half of the CD burners sold under the Pacific Digital band name are actually LiteOn manufactured burners - which is the best brand out there for CD and DVD computer drives.

I just received this and it was up and running in 30 minutes. I have a Dell and it had all of the needed cables ready to go. This is the first time I have attempted to install any hardware myself. I did it in less than 30 minutes and all works great. I burned my first CD and was playing it in 10 minutes after installing the software. Trust me, I am no computer geek and this was a breeze. I just hope it last as long as it was easy to install and use. So far, I'm impressed with both the burner and I have to admit Dell made it easy too!!! Everything was right there waiting for me to just plug it in.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I have had absolutely no problems burning onto cd-r and cd-rw. Not one time. Thumbs up to tech support for their online help.

The machine will copy to CD-R but not to CD-RW - no matter what the box says.

No tech support - no matter what the web site says. No one answers the toll-free tech support # and there is no response to tech support questions asked via email.

So don't buy the product if you need any support.

I had this burner installed and running in no time at all. Plus, the bundled software installed with no problems. I burned the first CD with great ease. The burning software is GREAT! and this thing is ....FAST! In my book the Pacific Digital U30106 CD-RW is top notch and I didn't have to spend a fortune to get it. In my opinion This is defiantly the best product(hardware and bundled software)in the CD-RW market for the money. I am very pleased with this purchase and will defiantly look to purchasing other Pacific Digital products in the future!

I bought this burner based on price and the posted reviews. I am very happy with it, but for those of us that have never seen the inside of a computer, I think the manual could have been a little more involved. But, don't worry, if I figured it out, you will. I did have a problem with the software that came with it. It wouldn't work with my burner. I contacted tech support and they had me upgrade from their website and then everything was fine. So, it's a great deal, easy to use, you just may have some easily fixed snags along the way.

I found this to be a quality burner at an excellent price. I can't say anything about the included software, because I don't use it, and I haven't tried to call tech support.... but I've burned >100 cd's with Zero problems and I feel like I got a good deal on the burner.

Now if you want to spend more $$$ on a CD-RW, Yamaha makes a great product... using the identical drive mechanism as the Pacific Digital!

This is the second one! I received the rep[lacement under warranty and guess what?! It died too! after about just over a month of use. Sticking to brand from now on. No more chinesse cheapo burners.
My old HP still kicking after 4 years, thats quality! Its true what they say, you get what you pay for. Learned the hard way.

I bought this burner about a month ago and everything is still running very smooth. It was easy to install, and if you have any problems, just go to the pacific digital website and have an online operator help you. Overal, it is a really fast burner at a great price.
