This stand was one of my first stands and I got it cause it was cheap. I figured a cymbal stand is a cymbal stand. I subsequently learned that this is not the case. This stand is light weight which is desireable for taking on airplanes and shipping and other things of that nature. However the stand is made with an inferior metal which is prone to dents and general malleability. My stand will no longer change size because the tubes are stuck from being deformed by the wingnuts. So if you're not going to move the stand, I would say its worth it cause its cheap and holds a cymbal. However, if you need to set up and break down even 10 times, this stand is not strong enough and will not last you.

This is a good straigt cymbals stand for the $$$. Keep in mind that it does not extend that tall, if you need a tall stand. Check the dimensions before purchasing. The name brand of the stand is not as important and the quality of cymbal you are using. Even more important is the player playing the cymbal. Hope this helps!
