I bought this for my 10" military style boots and it does a great job without drying out the leather. And it's completely silent. The warmth just flows up into the boots drying them fast.

I bought this for my husband last christmas...
He's the foreman of a garbage company and is out in all types of weather, rain, snow, heat...his steel toe boots are constantly getting wet from the elements or from sweat during the summer. Even if he would leave them in a warm, dry place over night, most times they wouldn't be dry in the morning when he left for work. This dryer/warmer is awsome! His boots are always dry in the morning. The thing is blessedly silent, no noise what-so-ever. It does not 'blow' hot air into the boot, it simply heats and the heat rises through the chambers and fills the boot. Because it does not blow air, if you are trying to quick dry something, I would suggest getting a different style dryer that blows the air like a hair dryer or something. I would recommend this to anyone who want nice dry and warm boots or gloves!

We live in the south, so this dryer was purchased to dry boots that have gotten wet with rain water, not snow. My husband has already used it twice and really loves it. I was worried it wouldn't be that great because the price was very good, but it seems to do just fine!

GOOD BARGAIN, WORKS WELL,

Does what it says. Dries your boots over night. Havent had my boots real wet tho, only normal after work drying. Gave it five stars cause it was the cheapest convection style boot dryer which was recommended by red wing shoes.but any how, tips: It stinks when you first put ur boots on the dryer, i keep mine on my inclosed porch cause they smell for at least an hour, maybe it is just me. Make sure you have a semi warm and well vented area or you will smell it. If its too cold it doesnt dry as well. I Have had to throw away boots before cause of smell from long hours in the field, seems to have it in check so far, oh and dont make the mistake that i did and think it was going to be instant, it takes at least 5 hours most the time some times 7 or 8. Plan on buying a dual unit or better unit if you plan on drying more than one pair, if this one ever breaks i will for sure.

Works well for boots and most gloves,

This boot dryer works very well on boots and it does a good job on most gloves too. It usually gets the job done overnight. I should have tried one years ago.
This dryer has a small 40 watt heater in the base. There is no fan or moving parts except an on-off switch on the base. The switch is lite by a bright red light when the dryer's "ON". Heated air rises by convection up through the hollow legs of the dryer into the toe of your boot. The warm air flows out from the toe of the boot down out the open end of the boot to remove moisture. This works great for boots and most gloves. Cotton and jersey work gloves that are porus dry out quickly in an hour or two on the dryer. If these gloves are completely soaked they will still be dried overnight. The only type of gloves that were a problem for me are heavy insulated "wind-proof" goves with a non-porus rubber lining and a tight elastic wrist cuff, like snowmobile gloves or sking gloves. These are hard to dry anyway. The elastic cuff seals around the heater and prevents the warm air from exiting the glove very well. The palm of these gloves dry OK overnight but the fingertips can still be damp in the morning. After I take these gloves off the dryer I put them in a warn dry place where air can circulate around them and the fingertips will be dry too within a few hours.

Iam a well driller, I always was putting my shoes on the hotel ac unit or heater to dry, this was only slightly effective.
I really hate to put on wet boots in morning so I purchased this product, it works great overnite the boots are completely dry by morning and Iam hoping the dry boots keep away atheletes foot that always a problem when your feet are wet all day fungus thrives, I highly reccomend this product for workers who value dry boots in morning.

My boyfriend is a garbage man. His boots get wet and mucky in the winter. He comes home and puts them on the boot dryer. They dry out very well and the dryer doesn't tip over at all. Very good value for the money.

This dryer is so basic and simple to operate, and doesn't make a sound. It has dried my work boots and gloves to my satisfaction. Don't be in a hurry though because the passive convected heat used to dry your stuff takes a while, but I like this because it's more of a natural drying process by not being too harsh on the things you are drying. When I say a while I mean your wet boots will be ready to wear if your leave them on the dryer overnight. I have dried boots, shoes, gloves, including neoprene water gloves and this dryer does the job.
