Love it!,

This shipped real fast! I got it the next day. It works like a dream. We use it for a tandem kayak and it's so great. It takes no time to load it on and get going. This is a life saver because my arms were so tired after being out in the kayak I couldn't pick the kayak up and carry it all the way back. Now we just lift up, roll the carrier under, strap it and that's that! We can go on our way. It works so good.

A way to kayak without breaking your back,

The first mission of this hauler was to get three kayaks weighing between 30-60 pounds from the parking lot to the beach about 500 yards away, along with the gear and coolers for a day of paddling on the lake. Putting the kayaks on top of this carrier and in turn loading the boats with gear made the launch portage three easy rolls to the water and we were paddling fast and easy.
The 'kickstand' really only holds the unit upright to get the boat on and strapped. It's only about 15" wide so a 12' boat on it balancing is an accomplishment under ideal conditions, much less on a beach of rocks or sand. It works to get the boat on and strapped and then you can use the bow or stern of the boat as a tripod point. The strap is a necessary piece to hold the boat in place during transport and that's why it's docked one star. The strap is a common cam-type 1" nylon cargo strap with 1" vinyl coated heavy steel cargo hooks for a job that velcro could do. The weight and design of the hooks makes the strap tend to fall off of one side while trying to attach the other side. There are no special strap eyelets. That part could have really been designed better and I imagine most end users will wind up using other straps with these wheels. The second mission was even more appreciated than the first, returning the boats to the truck after a day of paddling. With arms of rubber and a full day of fun in the sun, having these wheels really comes in handy. The trip back always seems to be the hard one. This carrier makes it a bit easier.

Used in the back woods of Maine,

We went on a fishing trip to a remote lake, with our kayaks, in northern Maine. They went over the rough terrain with no problem. I would highly recommend!

Well built, but could fold better,

Bought this to keep from straining my back carrying my 60 plus lb Folbot Greenland to and from the water and my truck.
As I keep the Folbot assembled most of the time, the side benefit of being able to move it in and out of my garage is great. It will stow in the front seat area of my kayak, but my springer spaniel is not excited about sharing her space. Also, the strap retaining system, as another reviewer pointed out, could use some more thought and better "locating" hardware. As my favorite campground on a bluff overlooking Lake Superior has a trail, of sorts, that goes down to the rocky shoreline, 300 feet below, the large wheels are needed and work very well. Hauling it back up the steep incline solo would have been unthinkable before I bought this, but is now achievable, which makes this a great investment for my terrain. In summary, it does the job very well with bigger and heavier boats, but taking it along with you on a voyage looks to be a challenge unless you are willing to surrender a fair amount of space. If the cart's boat support bed could be made in two pieces that would telescope and ball snap together, like a salmon landing net, this could more easily stow under decks.

Good product; good price,

I recently bought this carrier and am very pleased. A similar product at a local outdoor retailer was over twice the price. I am using it to pull a 17 foot canoe but I have no trouble loading it by myself (though the kickstand is rather lightweight to hold well on an incline). I am over a quarter mile from the launch site on my lake but it is quite light to haul and surprisingly easy to manuever. I am definitely glad I chose the big wheel, inflatable tire style.
An excellent product at a good price. I am quite satisfied.

I highly recommend this canoe carrier. My only issue with it is the tire stems being at an angle that made inflation impossible, but the company replaced them shortly after I e-mailed them about the problem.

This is my second carrier. The 1st one, smaller, (2 years old now), works great for my 14'. The extra weight of my loon 160T needed a strong, easy to wheel through sand, grass, dirt cart. My camping sites are always a few hundred feet away, this carrier makes the walk easier and possible. Attaching the kayak takes some work to stay where I wanted it, but I solved that.

Canoe carrier,
By

This carrier works well for moving my 65 pound Old Towne canoe around, which is the main reason I purchased it. I store the canoe under my lower deck, which is 100 feet downhill from the front drive. The carrier is a major help when moving it uphill. As others have mentioned, the one-inch holding strap is inadequate; a 2-inch ratcheting strap would hold the canoe much more stable.
I added a removable 6 foot aluminum front extension bar which allows me to move my heavy ladder around. I'm sure this voids the warranty, but this adaptation has made this carrier more than a one-use item.

Carrying Bass boat (12' coleman crawdad),
This review is from: Pacific Outdoors Canoe and Boat Carrier (Sports)
I carried a 12' Coleman Crawdad bass boat, 50LB thrust minnkota trolling motor, marine battery, two oars, two tackle boxes, two packed personal coolers, four fishing rods, two life vests, a cobra lock for the carrier (to lock it to a tree while we fish), and wheelied this all down a rough old fire road for approx. 1/4 mile without ANY problems what so ever. The road was hard packed dirt with lots of ruts, rocks and tree roots and this carrier performed beyond my expectations (considering it's made for canoes/kayaks). I have pics of it loaded up and me rolling on down trail. I've also posted 5 pictures of this item n action. Suffice it to say this thing is awesome! It's way easier to load a boat on to the carrier with two people though, so you can line things up for best balance point but can be done by one with patience.
My neighber was sure this would not work and it did, he was happy too as he didn't have to carry the boat with me for a 1/4 mile to the pond, lol

Perfect for the job.,

I have a square stern canoe which is much wider than a normal canoe (48 inches) and much heavier (110 lbs). This cart works very well for moving my boat around. It was easy for one person to handle when going up and doown the hill on the way to the lake that my cabin is near. My boat would not fit on other canoe carriers or carts, I am glad I found this one.
