It is a practice basket with one set of chains.

They're sturdy, VERY easy to put together (and take apart), and yet light enough to move around easily.

The chains are supposed to be galvanized, but they appear to be just nickel-coated and rusted after a couple weeks outside. I'm not sure if it's the number of chains or the weight or what, but I also get a whole lot more bounce-outs than I do with a DGA basket.

All that said and I own 3 of these and will probably buy more as I expand my course. They break down easily and are pretty stable. I will probably replace the chains eventually with heavier, rust-proof ones. In the end I'll still save hundreds of dollars building a 9-hole course by going with this instead of a DGA, Innova or Discraft target.

This basket is a great buy. It is all metal with sturdy powder coating. The gauge of the metal is quite a bit lighter than a Mach III, but it is plenty sturdy for practice putting and play. The base, while it looks flimsy, actually keeps the basket quite sturdy even when banging hard, long shots into it. The only gripe I have is the chains. They are much lighter weight than those on pro baskets and allow putts to shoot through quite a bit. This could easily be remedied by adding an interior set of chains purchased from a hardware store. I plan on doing this. For the price, it's the best practice basket out there.

This goal is worth the money all day long. It is well constructed, easy set up, easy tear down, and is easy to take along. Would also work well as a stationary goal. The discs you might as well throw in the garbage, they are crap, but thats not why you are buying this. I am planning on buying at least 3 moew over the next year to help build my own course i have been working on....i have the land now all i need are the baskets.

UPDATE: JUST CHECKING BACK IN THAT MY 2 BASKETS ARE NOW 4 AND 5 YEARS OLD AND ARE STILL PERFECT. THE NEW 'BLACK BASKET' JUST CAME OUT AT $170 OR SO IS HEAVIER GUAGE BUT ODDLY SHAPED. BETTER PERHAPS BUT PACIFIC IS A MUCH BETTER VALUE.

With various discounts, I am now buying my 2nd basket for well under 100.00.
They are worth it. I have had my first Pacific for 3 years: No rust.
If it DID rust back when someone complained in 2006, it's been fixed.

I have had mine outside, including Rocky Mountain winters, and there is no damage.
It is light enough to easily re-position. This is huge if you want to learn to putt
on different slopes, angles etc. I have had mine in over 10 locations. It's just so easy.

It is light. But when the wind blows it over, it is back and ready in 15 seconds. Easy.
It is a practice basket with one set of chains. You can add more thru the hardware store
OR just be happy when you get to the course and the real chains grab your disc a little better.

If you have 400.00 and want a permanent basket....go for it.
If you have 300.00 and want a heavy weight portable....go for it.
But if you have 100.00 or less and want a truly portable basket that gets it done....this is it.

You simply can't go wrong with this basket. If you want to practice your putts, approaches, and even the occasional drive, this basket fits the bill for portability, durability, and ease of set up. I bought one, and I plan to buy several more. It's a great basket for setting up a temporary weekend course on your property. As stated in another review, an interior set of chains helps block blow-throughs, but it's a great basked none the less. Buy one!

Sets up quick. Great in the backyard. Sturdy. Good price and excellent value.

Before I ordered this basket, I had the opportunity to view one up close. A local sporting goods store had both an In-Step and a competior's basket that was more than twice the price. While the better known brand basket did look a little more solid and had a few more chains, I did not feel that it was superior to the point where it justified its price. I was impressed enough with the In-Step to go ahead and order from Amazon. The shipping was fast and I was very impressed with the quality of the basket. Set up was a breeze. The basket does an admirable job of catching discs and helps the user to focus on throwing flat putts instead of hyzer putts(this is a good thing--especially in the wind)which are more likely to blow through. I plan on storing the basket in a work shop when not in use so weathering will not be an issue for me. Overall I am very pleased with the basket as it gives me a decent target to help improve my putting game without breaking the bank. Buy an In-step and use the money you save to buy a bag full of putters to practice with!

My wife bought this basket for me for my birthday this year. I have used it a few times for quick short games with family and friends, and some short game practice in the back yard.

This hole seems very druable, easy to set up, and very portable. I don't think you can get a better deal for the price. Some reviews have said that the light weight chains are prone to blow through shots, but we havn't seemed to have that problem with this basket. Great buy.
