My 4 year old just loved it! It is her own special place. I love it because it doesn't slide off the bed. The poles are made just like tent poles. They are very durable. They are not hollow like the others that use pvc. They wanted me to rate the educational value, I put 5 stars since imagination is important too. I would recommend this for any little girl.

Our 5-year old daughter loves this castle tent! Mom and Dad have a few hesitations. Putting the tent together was simple and it fits snuggly over the bed much like a fitted sheet - therein lies the problem. Because it DOES fit like a sheet, there is no way to put a real fitted sheet on the bottom of the tent, which means unless you just lay a sheet on the bottom (which slides around easily), your child sleeps on plastic - a bit hot. If you decide to take it down, you really need to take it apart to store it. Having said that - it looks cute and flaps are easy to roll up and tie in place. Our daughter really views it as her secret escape and doesn't mind being left alone to sleep.

My daughter got this for Christmas this year. She loves having her own tent. She was always making tents with blankets and the kitchen chairs, and I saw this and knew she'd love it. She loves "camping" with all her stuffed animals! The tent seems very durable, and I have not had a problem with it falling off the bed. Although it is supposed to fit the bed like a fitted sheet, the elastic ends dont seem to be "tight" enough. However the tent poles keep it in place. She's had it on her bed since Christmas night, and it has not shifted at all. I especially like the screened "windows" on the doors of the tent. That way I dont have to unzip it to check on her at night, I can just look thru the windows.

This is a wonderful product. We've used it for almost a year now and it has withstood tremendous abuse. It's very well made and extremely durable. The manufacturer recomends just spot cleaning, but I've even washed it in the washing machine without any trouble. We've taken it on vacation twice. It's very easy to assemble and take apart. My 2 y/o loves it!!! We bought it for her after she learned to climb out of her crib, after she fell out of a toddler bed. We just put a twin mattress w/the tent on it on the floor. It's a great way to transition to a bed.

This tent is great during the day for my daughter to play in, but it is not good to sleep in the night time while closed. It only has two small windows with a mesh that hardly lets any air in. When zipped down, air is limited and your child will have very little air after a few minutes because the vent holes are too close together. Before I let my children use anything I try it out myself so if you want to see for yourself get inside of it close the zipper and wait a few minutes. You will feel no fresh air flow. I can only imagine after a whole night sleep. I don't recommend this tent for children with any respiratory problems or for it to be used if your child is sick because it will be a breeding ground for bacteria since there is poor air circulation. I love the idea but hardly use it because I have to take it off in the night time. The company needs to make the holes bigger so that there is more airflow. The size is great but could be better if it grips the mattress better.

I ordered this bed tent for our daughter who just went from her crib to a toddler bed. In her crib, she loved the "tent-like" feel of a sheet draped over the top. Since this wasn't possible in a toddler bed, I ordered this bed tent to give her the cover (from light, etc) that she loved in her crib. We knew this bed was not made to fit a toddler bed the way it was designed to fit - but I thought I'd see if we could make it work. Here's what worked: We stuck the WHOLE toddler bed INSIDE the bed tent and it is PERFECT!!!!!! She LOVES it!! It's great for keeping out the light at naptime - we even throw a small blanket over the top screens to give total darkness at naptime - it's wonderful! Highly recommended for those of you with toddler beds!!

First of all, my daughter (3) loves this tent. The play value she gets out of it is well worth the price. She has slept in it for about a month and hasn't tired of it at all.

Negatives:

- This thing is kind of a pain to put together. The poles get snagged constantly on the fabric tubes and it makes for a frustrating time.

- Just trying to get the poles through caused some of the seams to pop on the fabric tubes. Nothing that ruined the tent, but be careful if you try to force them in.

- While the tent does have a fitted bottom, it comes off pretty easily. You will be putting it back on pretty much every time your kid gets out of the tent or in the morning after they get up.

- We use a flat sheet over the bottom of the tent but that pretty much scrunches up every time my kids get in. If there was a way to put a fitted sheet on the inside with the fitted bottom it would be perfect.

Overall, my kids love this tent and my daughter's face when she first got into it was worth the effort it took to put together.
