4.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating a bit, but I'm very satisfied
The bike was delivered within two days of ordering. All necessary screws were there and nothing was bent. Sounds like a lot of people have had those problems before, but maybe they're doing a better job at checking these things before they ship. Anyway, I can't deny the fact that putting the bike together is frustrating and timely. I'd never done that before, but I am...

2.0 out of 5 stars Would have been beter off going garage sale/vintage
My friend and I both purchased this bike. The bike was easy to put together, but the decals were falling off when I took it out of the box. The instruction manual is in no readable order. Both bikes had to have the gears worked on to stop them from trying to shift contstantly without the shift knob being touched at all.

Over all, I'm not happy and i think I...

The bike was delivered within two days of ordering. All necessary screws were there and nothing was bent. Sounds like a lot of people have had those problems before, but maybe they're doing a better job at checking these things before they ship. Anyway, I can't deny the fact that putting the bike together is frustrating and timely. I'd never done that before, but I am glad to know now how all the little gadgets work. It took me about 2.5 hours to put together (while taking a frustration break several times) but it starts to make sense after a while. Just read the manual carefully and REPEATEDLY. The ride is very smooth on this bike and the handlebars are super - you don't have to keep them at 45 degrees, put them where it feels best for you. Overall, I'd recommend this bike for someone who likes the challenge of putting things together, who has the proper tools to put this bike together (or can borrow tools from someone), and who is looking for a comfortable cruiser that has a nice look to it as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Rad Bike, March 7, 2007

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I shopped around at bike stores and online for a cruiser bike. This is definately the best value.
It looks great, has gears, handbrakes, AND fenders! I found a similar one by Schwinn at Target for $10 more, but it didn't have fenders and the handlebars were too long so my hands weren't far enough in front of me. This one has the perfect handlebars.
It was easy to put together. It's just putting on the handlebars, seat, front tire, front fender and pedals. I didn't have to assemble the gears or anything. That was all done. The only confusing part was that the instruction manual was for several different kinds of bikes, and you had to read through a lot to get to the right bike. But if you're mechanically inclined, it's easy enough to figure out just by looking at the bike parts, which is what I did after getting annoyed with the instructon manual.
The only problem I had with this purchase is that it needed more padding during shipping. It didn't have any padding and a small piece was bent in transit. I was able to bend it back, but I knew I was taking a risk of that from reading the other reviews.

All in all, it's a fantastic bike. I have so much fun riding it. It's way more comfortable than a mountain bike. I put a basket on the front and it just looks great as a whole package. Other cruisers at bike shops were $300-$600. This is an amazing bike for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect bike!!!, October 4, 2005
I love this bike!!! I bought this bike for comfort, style and its features. I spent about 4 weeks searching and researching entry level/budget friendly Comfort/Cruiser bikes and decided on this one even though assembly was required. It was exactly what I was looking for: higher and wider handle bars positioned so I can sit upright and not hunched over in the racing position, a wide saddle for ultimate comfort so I can focus on enjoying the scenery while I ride instead of discomfort, and a cruiser bike with hand brakes and more than one speed. I was overjoyed to find this bike has 7 speeds!!! Assembly was easy with the exception of some tweeking on the rear brakes. I took my bike to a local bike repair shop for that and the cost was minimal. The cost was worth it to me since I love the bike so much. Decals and fenders were in tact upon delivery but it was missing one front axle nut which was easily replaced at my local bike repair shop as well. I would highly recommend this bike to any woman looking for a comfortable ride with style.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS BIKE!, August 7, 2006
I ordered this bike because I wanted the comfort of a cruiser bike, but I still needed to be able to get up and down hills. It took me about 1-2 hours to put together and the directions were a little confusing because the manual is actually for several different types of bikes. You have to flip through and find the instructions that pertain to this bike. While it was a little confusing at times, I did just fine. I took it to a bike shop the next day to make sure I had put it together correctly and to have them make any minor adjustments that were necessary. They gave it a once over, and all it cost me was $10.

I have been riding this bike constantly since then. It is so comfortable. I feel like I am a little kid again. I just ride around with a silly grin on my face most of the time. This past weekend I rode down the west side of Manhattan, then took the train to the beach at Far Rockaway to ride all the way down the boardwalk. I am sure there are other bikes that area lot better, but they coast a lot more. If you are looking for a simple, comfortable and inexpensive bike, this is it. I highly recommend it!

I hope this review helps you. Best of luck and happy riding!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Overall Deal, August 18, 2005
I am so pleased with my new bike. I'm 32 and it has been several years since I have done any cycling, but I'm determined to find interesting ways of getting my 10 month old daughter out and about. The bike was easy enough to put together. My husband & I put it together without any fights (and only a couple misleading instructions from the bike booklet). My front fender was slightly bent in transit, but I can cope. It's comfy, easy to adjust and takes the baby bike trailer with no complaints. Just the right price to aid my re-entry into cycling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ladies Cruiser Bike Value, August 24, 2006
For short neighborhood jaunts, this bicycle certainly fits the bill. We added a front basket and antique bell to customize ... Also, we took it to a local shop to adjust the brakes and gears a bit before regular use.

5.0 out of 5 stars All around great bike!, August 1, 2005

I bought this bike for casual riding around the neighborhood, and a comfortable ride while doing it, and this bike fits those needs perfectly. There's nothing I'd change about this bike, including the seat, which I understand many people change in hopes of more comfort. Considering the look, the comfort, the durability and the price, I'd say you can't pass on this bike. In fact, I'm considering purchasing one each for my 50-something mother and my teenage daughter.

Really like this bike. Perfect for my middle age needs. I can get a little exercise, nice wide seat, easy gears, old fashioned design. Thanks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bend tire frame due to shipment (I assume), August 19, 2006
By
Lana Fontaine (Brooklyn, NY, USA) - See all my reviews
Got all parts of the bike when shipped; took about 45 minutes to put it together. The frame of the tire was bend, wheel wobbled, and the uneven part of the wheel thrusted against the brakes. Took it to a bike shop to fix that and put some air in the tires for $13. Over all a cool bike if you like the retro look, I also bought a basket and a traditional bell for the front; drove it for about 4.5 hours today, so far so good!
