A gripping novel of terror and suspense,
By New England Pat (Virginia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Pack (Paperback)
A family's getaway visit to an island resort becomes an ordeal of unspeakable horror when a savage pack of abandoned dogs holds them hostage at a cottage. Out of the reach of rescue personnel on the mainland because of a winter storm, the family is forced to band together and stave off attacks by the dogs, who are led by a cunning and vicious German shepherd. The animals have already claimed human victims and are relentless in their search for food and lay siege to the cottage, daring the inhabitants inside to venture forth in search for help. The tension builds to an explosive peak as the confrontation between the family and dogs approaches its final stage. The author's novel is cleverly plotted and is a page-turner all the way. A film based on this story was made in 1977.
