5.0 out of 5 stars We LOVE these blankets
When I had my first son I hated recieving blankets, I did not see the point in them at all, they were too light for anything of any real use. But with this baby we needed to swaddle her or she wouldnt sleep. These are the only blankets that work. They are warm but not too warm and have just enough stretch to effectively swaddle a squirmer. 3.0 out of 5 stars Okay for small babies
We received many blankets, and of all of them, these are our least favorite. Our daughter was almost 9 pounds when she was born, and the blankets were simply too small. She loves to be swaddled tightly, but when we tried to swaddle her, one kick of her feet would leave her legs sticking out. Look for larger blankets that will take your baby through several months.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice light blanket for everything but swaddling, September 11, 2005
This review is from: 5 Pack Receiving Blankets in Pistachio Assortment (Baby Product)
These blankets are nice because they are small and light. I mainly use them as a cover-up when nursing or pumping in semi-public places (i.e. the car). It is so hot here in the summer, so this is a nice lightweight blanket, versus some of the other heavier flannel blankets. It is too small for swaddling, but I didn't buy them with that intention. If you are looking for a swaddling blanket or something warm, you might want to pass on these. However, I am surprised how often I have used them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too small, July 15, 2005
This review is from: 5 Pack Receiving Blankets in Pistachio Assortment (Baby Product)
These blankets were too small to swaddle my baby with, and he was only 6 lbs when born! I wish I would of seen the other reviews saying the same thing before I registered for them. They are good for a blanket in the stroller or car, but not for swaddling.

The receiving blankets are very soft to the touch and of good quality material. The colors and design are just as described at website. I am very pleased with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!, August 4, 2004

I thought these blankets are wonderful! I use mine daily for lots of things, from a light cover to a sunshade. Very soft and usefull and a great price. I would recommend to everyone! They are so soft and nice, after my son outgrows the blankets, I'm planning to make the softest quilt out of these blankets!. Since these match so well and are such cute colours, jsut cut them into squares, put it all together with a lightweight flannel backing on it. I KNOW it will be my son's favorite blankie!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too small for swaddling, August 2, 2005
This review is from: 5 Pack Receiving Blankets in Pistachio Assortment (Baby Product)
My biggest complaint about these blankets it that with rounded corners, they are too small for swaddling, which is what we primarily needed them for. By comparison, the Wamsutta blankets, which are supposed to be the same dimensions, are much more suitable for swaddling.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beware the Pills!, June 20, 2005

These are nice blankets: very soft, good size, durable. BUT they pill like crazy leaving lint absolutely everywhere on the first washing. Make sure you separate your laundry carefully! Carters (or The First Years) didn't have that problem.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not good for large babies, January 27, 2006
This review is from: 5 Pack Receiving Blankets in Pistachio Assortment (Baby Product)
The main purpose for the receiving blanket is to swaddle infants to soothe and comfort them when it is time to sleep. We had a larger baby (9lb 6oz) but by no means abnormally large. These receiving blankets measure about 28"x28" after washing and are too small to keep a larger baby swaddled

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Blankets, but Small for Swaddling, July 11, 2005
This review is from: 5 Pack Receiving Blankets in Pistachio Assortment (Baby Product)
I love the patterns on these blankets and they are very soft; however, they are not very good for swaddling the baby (my baby was 7 pounds) as they are on the smaller side. I also bought similar blankets from Babies R Us (available online also) by Carter's in a four-pack and they are larger, a bit thicker, and MUCH better for swaddling and wrapping the baby!
