I was doing wood working for a guitar neck for a cigar box guitar. I normally use a draw knife, but while reading plans for one online, this tool was suggested. It was very inexpensive so I bought it. For the simple project I was doing it worked great at shaving the wood into the round ed form I wanted. I did have to do a lot of sanding after using it, but it worked fine. It also took some time getting used to how much it would cut. For the price this is the perfect tool for simple projects. If you want fine precision work, use a draw knife. I did like this product enough that I bought another one.

I have used surform shavers for some time and this particular style mostly. It is an underated tool! It is one of the tools I must have in my tool box! It can be used on small and even larger projects when I need to form wood and other tools are not as convenient. I have tried similar items, but they just don't equal the convenience of this one! This four pack is a very good buy!
