Any word on the packaging on this? I have avoided buying SG-1 solely due to that, I would have bought it ages ago. Thankfully it's on Netflix streaming. I have this preordered but fear the packaging horror.

I would not worry about the type of packaging as with SG-1 since these are blu-rays and can withstand scratches. The worry with SG-1 was because they were DVD's and can get scratched very easily where blu-rays can withstand so much more.

There's pictures of the packaging here:

As you can see, it's much more streamlined and attractive packaging.

Got my copy today, everything is in order and plays great. Packaging is much smaller than i thought it'd be which is nice.

Packaging for the Atlantis blu-ray set is fine. There are three sturdy blu-ray plastic cases which fit inside a hard cardboard box. The discs are firmly in their places and are easy to remove.

I have played all the discs and the audio and video are excellent. Blu-rays are coated with a hard substance which makes them much more scratch resistant than DVDs.

My experience tells me just the opposite....blu-rays are less resistant to scratching than are DVDs.
