first rate resource for llama packing,
By quinn english (Durango, CO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Packing With Llamas (Paperback)
As enthusiastic, if aging, hikers, my husband and I have discovered llama packing as a way to continue to explore the mountains without carrying big backpacks. This book provided concise and useful information that helped us decide if the llamas we wanted to buy were good for the task, how to care for our llamas, and how to train them for packing. The information on selecting and using pack equipment was also very helpful. The resources in the appedices that include where to buy gear and how to make it yourself were also useful. But one of the best parts of the book are the author's personal stories about actual on-the-trail experiences. She clearly loves her llamas and the wilderness. In my opinion this book is a "must buy" for hikers who are ready to let the llamas carry the load.

This book has been on the market for many years, but some things don't change. The information is as accurate today as it was 20 years ago. It's easy to read and understand. The author is experienced and is able to convey her knowledge of packing to the reader.
