PACSAFE is ideal for many situations, but I find it particularly useful when you need to leave your computer, cameras etc. in the hotel room or in any other places, while I go out for dinner or to an appointement. It is well made, but mostly it gives you peace of mind.

I bought this for my son for a trip to England that combined camping and hosteling. It looks very secure, and flexible in how it can be used. I thought it a good idea, but son elected not to take it. He felt it was too heavy and bulky (folded) to warrant the space and extra weight. I think he was also self conscience about using it. It is quite obvious when wrapped around the outside of a backpack and too awkward and bulky to use inside a fully packed backpack. Now he uses it as dorm room security, discreetly hidden inside an old backpack. Consider whether you see the heftiness of the stiff, heavy wire as a bonus or a nuisance.
