The publisher's description and reviews neglect to mention that all of the stories in this collection have been abridged. The only reason I didn't give this book fewer stars is because I like the watercolored illustrations (which goes to show that not all changes are bad), and because Paddington is still enjoyable reading, even when edited down. I just wish they had published a color edition of the INTACT stories, or at the very least they should have made it clear upfront that entire chapters have been omitted.

While all the Paddington stories are wonderful, an anthology of this size is too large for little ones to cuddle up with. Not enough pictures for little listeners. Single volumes would be a better bet.

Paddington, a small bear from "darkest Peru," definitely needs looking after as he always finds himself in one sticky situation after another. I discovered P. only a few years ago. I had MEANT to read the P. books for YEARS, but somehow hadn't gotten around to it. After I finally read A Bear Called Paddington, frequently laughing out loud at Paddingtons' "situations," I immediately found the next three books, then the next three...

I am delighted that the Paddington books have now been bound in one volume and am equally delighted to be adding this to my collection.

Parents will want to use this as read-aloud material: it provides a thick treasury of Paddington Bear stories, accompanied by Peggy Fortnum's line drawings watercolored by her step-granddaughter. Paddington Bear is always in trouble, and this provides an excellent, whimsical set of adventures for newcomers and prior Paddington fans in a fine keepsake edition.

I was a little disappointed when I saw this book. It is so large and heavy that it is difficult and heavy to hold while reading. If I were to do it again I would either purchase a paperback or a collection of individual books. Of course Paddington stories are delightful and we are still able to enjoy the book.

The books about Paddington are a treasure for both children and parents. They are classic children's literature and make you forget how old you are, even though you may be turning seventy five. This lovable bear is one of my childhood's most treasured characters and the drawings are simply wonderful.

What a wonderful way to spend quality time with your beginning reader -- or for the independent reader to have fun reading, with both the child and grandparent (in my case) sharing in lots of humour.

Beyond the idea of darkest Peru - which is probably comes from the age of the book - the stories are glorious and i enjoy reading them to my daughter

Paddington is quite a bear and provides lots of material for teachable moments

The book was in excellent condition. It shipped on time. I could not ask for a better transaction.

You can tell some of the stories are missing from this collection, but it is a great price, for a large collection of some of my favorite childhood stories.
