Mostly river trips of Northern Minnesota,
By Michael A. Duvernois (Minneapolis, MN United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Paddling Northern Minnesota: 86 Great Trips by Canoe and Kayak (Trails Books Guide) (Paperback)
This is the best book that I know of covering paddling (canoe and kayak) in Northern Minnesota. Mostly these are down river journeys, including nine sequential routes on the headwaters of the Mississippi River well north of the Twin Cities, but also a couple of sea kayak trips along the Lake Superior coast, a short upriver trip near Duluth, and a couple of sample trips in Voyageurs' Park and in the Boundary Waters. The great canoe areas are better covered by books specific to them, but the other trips are well described and each has a useful map presented alongside. I have great respect for these books (northern & southern Minnesota & Wisconsin) and have never had an issues with the trips that the authors suggest.
