Product Description

The bain-marie stainless steel double boiler is a shallow hot water bath in which another container is placed for slow and even heating. It is commonly used for melting chocolate or maintaining the delicate temperature of a sauce. It has one handle into which the water is poured

It's about time for suc a great product.

The use of tempered glass instead would have created a virtually problem-free design, and would have gotten a 5-star rating from me.

This is the perfect pot for making delicate sauces, melting chocolate, or making puddings and creams. You fill the chamber with water until the glass vile shows that it is full. You then place the pot on the stove (gas or electric) and the contents heat very gently. Just this past weekend, my friend and I made chocolate bark for about 50 people and huge amounts of chocolate melted in what seemed like a few minutes and we never had to worry about burning the chocolate or getting water into it. I recommend this pot to anyone who cooks or bakes regularly.

This is an excellent one-piece double boiler that does exactly what it was designed to do: keep sauces or chocolate warm at even temperature without burning. The size is quite convenient and it makes a great server for sauce that can be warmed up with ease. It's about time for suc a great product.

We love this product. Great for melting chocolate and cooking grits. Excellent price too, about half what they charge in Williams/Sonoma. I love to shop at Amazon!

The double boiler has no lid, is time-consuming to fill and drain, and the plastic pressure release cap and ball bearing fell off/out after only a few uses.

It is a great idea but had to return it for the above reasons.

This pot works great! Bought it for bechamel sauce for Italian lasagna. Works great for any other low heat/no burn cooking.

Love the double boiler design, I'm okay with the fact that it doesn't come with a lid, but the major design flaw is the plastic indicator window at the bottom of the handle. There's a tiny metal deflector under the plastic part, but even after exercising due precautions not to expose it to excessive heat the plastic window still melted, rendering the double boiler useless. What kind of a designer puts plastic on the base of a pot designed for the stovetop??? The use of tempered glass instead would have created a virtually problem-free design, and would have gotten a 5-star rating from me.

Great product, works very well, great small, compact design. Only reason not a five-star rating is the lack of any instructions or warranty paperwork - just the item in a white box. I had to look on the Internet to find operating instructions (not much to the operation, but even a slip of paper explaining it's initial operation, cleaning instructions, etc would have been helpful!)
