5.0 out of 5 stars Just right
This pan makes classic, perfect madeleines. Be sure to use a nice brush to coat the grooves well with vegetable oil or butter. I prefer this to my nonstick pan because the color is a beautiful golden, not overly browned.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disasppointed - Elastomoule product better
I made Madeleine cookies using this pan and also my Elastomoule pan. What a HUGE difference. The cookies made using the Elastomoule pan were perfect - looked like they came from a French bakery. The cookies made using this pan were hard to get out of the mold - even though I thoroughly buttered as suggested. They also had a very brown look to them. In fairness, they did...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Madeleines, January 13, 2007

This pan provided a wonderful light golden color to the madeleines. I recommended using a spread of 1 tablespoon of melted butter and 1 tablespoon of flour mixed and brushed on to the molds. This made them virtually nonstick and added wonderfully to the color and taste. This product is wonderful, I might have to order a second one since my recipe always yields 2 batches!!

In fairness, they did taste the same but they sure didn't look anywhere near as good. I do NOT like this pan and plan on trying to sell it and purchase another Elastomoule pan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cutest little madelines!, March 18, 2007

This worked as promised and turned out some very dainty little madelines- cute as a button! It works the same as the large madeleine pans, and is made from the same heavy weight metal, but the result is darling. Would be great for tiny "garnish" on a larger dessert, for a tea, or just because some people prefer small doses of good things!

the madeleines these turned out were beautiful. they didn't stick if you buttered and floured, and they were nice and smooth too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but small, February 26, 2008

Nice, but the molds are much smaller than I thought. Think the height of an individual mold is about 1 1/2inch tall. But still nice, next time I will purchase the larger mold.

5.0 out of 5 stars Madeline Pan, March 22, 2008

Great Pan.....watch out Starbucks...(I LOVE their Madelines). Would be best to purchase 2 pans or it takes a long time with only 1. I am getting another. Julie

Madeleines are fun to make but you need two so that there isn't lag time between batches baking.

4.0 out of 5 stars baking pan, September 6, 2007

this is a simple madeleine pan that needs to be "seasoned" after several uses, it seems to bake just fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tiny Madeleines Were What We Needed, March 8, 2009
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I made 150 madeleines for a Girl Scout tabletop around the world fair. We had France and served a treat that was tiny, since every table was serving a treat from their country. Also, when I looked at the larger madeleine size, it would have taken hours to make all that I needed, but being able to make 40 at a time (I bought 2 pans) really helped. It took about 30 minutes to complete each cycle of 40 - including the buttering, filling, baking and releasing. The batter I made a day in advance and stored in pastry bags so that I could pipe right into the openings. The excellent chocolate madeleine recipe I used can be found on marthastewart.com - search chocolate madeleine. The batter goes a LONG way with these molds. The only thing I was disappointed in, was that the shell design doesn't show up very well - maybe because they're so small. If you're making as a dessert, be prepared to make more than you think you'll need - 1 of these madeleines is equal to or smaller than 1 bite of cake and people will keep popping them into their mouths!
