Product Description

The Paderno World Cuisine 5 quart stainless steel food mill is used to strain or purée fruits and vegetables. By placing cooked fruits or vegetables in the mill and turning the crank, the semi-circular blade oversweeps, compresses and scrapes food. The bar that straddles the container applies constant pressure against the cutting plate and crushes the food, while retaining seeds, skin, and fibers. The food mill comes with three cutting plates allowing for a variety of textures. These interchangeable cutting plates have perorations of either 1/16”, 3/32” or 5/32” (1.5 mm, 2.5 mm or 4 mm). This food mill’s output is approximately 3 lbs. per minute and fits on any 7” or larger receptacle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Paderno World Cuisine 5 quart stainless steel food mill with three cutting plates, March 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I was very disappointment with this product. It was metal grinding against metal which results in metal shavings mixed with food!

1.0 out of 5 stars Has the manufacturer actually tried it?, September 11, 2010
This review is from: Paderno World Cuisine 5 quart stainless steel food mill with three cutting plates (Kitchen)
I have an older well used model same manufacturer and delign made of tin plated steel. I silver soldered the fatigue cracked steel plate. It still works smothly but wanted a new stainless machine with the different sized plates.
The small and medium cutting plates have had their holes punched roughly from bottom to top leaving burrs that interfere with the auger and making it almost impossible to turn. I also see the possibility of stainless steel chips dislodged to the food.
Designed in France but outsourced to China? That may be unfair. Maybe the manufacturer screwed up in France.
In my small machine shop I ground most of the burrs smooth with a high speed convolute wheel and the edge holes with a dremmel tool.
I feel that you shouldn't have to fix a mew machine to make it work.
One star.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent mill for large quantities, September 13, 2011

I'm not sure what problems other people have had with this food mill, but it was absolutely great to use in the culinary school that I attended in Dallas. It disassembles easily for cleaning, can process large quantities very quickly and efficiently, and the end product is very consistent. I have a smaller and much less expensive food mill of another brand that I use at home, but for when you want to process mashed potatoes for 10 people or more at once, this is extremely useful. :-)
