Book Description

February 1, 2003
High style steps off the catwalk and into the doghouse in Pads for Pets. Featuring instructions for more than 30 chic and ingenious abodes and retreats for dogs, cats, mice, toads, birds, fish, turtles, and bunnies, this book is an invitation to update a primitive perch or antiquated aquarium. The Cat Scratch Fever wall hanging, for example, is a work of art that gets kitty s claws off the sofa. The Orphan Sock Bed creates a cozy dog spot out of all those odd socks. And Flying into the Chapel turns an old guitar into a birdhouse worthy of Elvis. While the projects range from simple crafts to weekend projects, each is guaranteed to charm pets and pet lovers alike. Adorable, amusing, and definitely do-able, the animal abodes in Pads for Pets were created by pet-loving California architects, designers, and artists. Proceeds from the book benefit P.A.W.S.

4.0 out of 5 stars A craft book packed with charm, March 19, 2003

This review is from: Pads for Pets (Spiral-bound)
From a Zen Bed for cats to Terra Cotta Abodes for pet toads, imaginative plans for pampering your pets make this book great fun. No budget this year for purchasing a beach house or even making a trip to an exotic island? See San Francisco designer Randall Koll's instructions for building your canine companion a bamboo pup hut-- batik curtains optional.
A thoroughly delightful book that's fun to read even if you never pick up hammer and nails.

These are bit more ambitious than I was thinking to make but still very creative and cute.

4.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this book!!, December 6, 2007
This review is from: Pads for Pets (Spiral-bound)
Some of the included projects are, in my world, over-the-top in complexity or difficulty (which is why only 4 stars), but there are a number of projects that are actually doable! To be fair, each project is rated by difficulty, with one to five paw prints. I enjoyed this book so much that I've given several copies to friends, which says a lot since I'm a poor slob with no job. :) I'm sad that "Pads for Pets" is in the bargain bin, although this is YOUR gain!!
