This textbook represents one of the most comprehensive, up-to-date sources on child neurology. It expertly synthesizes state-of-the-art knowledge from a variety of disciplines, including clinical medicine, pathology, genetics, physiology, biochemistry, and related fields. Although the primary focus is on clinical evaluation and management, the book also examines the sophisticated technology that has been revolutionizing the field.

This review is from: Paediatric Neurology: Theory and Practice (Hardcover)
Edited by Panteliadis (pediatric neurology, University of Thessaloniki, Greece) and Korinthenberg (pediatric neurology, University of Freiburg, Germany) and consisting in individual chapters written by specialists from over 20 countries, this comprehensive textbook focuses on the diagnosis and management of neurology disorders affecting neonates, infants, children and adolescents. The book begins with the approach to the patient then details the cardinal manifestations of paediatric neurologic disorders. Next, the major disease categories are presented, along with the most current management strategies. Other features include: organized the way in which a clinician thinks - approach the patient, review cardinal symptoms, then fit these symptoms into the appropriate syndrome or disorder; includes detailed coverage of inherited abnormalities; and features an entire section on growth and development of the nervous system. No medical text can ever be comprehensive, or completely up to date. The science of medicine advances so quickly that books are outdated the day they are published. Nonetheless, "Paediatric Neurology: Theory and Practice" comes as close as possible in covering the core curriculum for undergraduate teaching and specialist reference in the field of paediatric neurology.
