A Great Introductory Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pagan Origins of the Christ Myth (Paperback)
Concise and easy-to-read. Christian doctrines are traced to their origins in older religions, and Jesus' similarities to other savior-gods are delineated. ** Excellent **

Decent Intro to Understanding Pagan Origins of Christianity,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pagan Origins of the Christ Myth (Paperback)
This book introduces the study of pagan origins for Christianity. It is quite concise and gives the reader a primer on the subject. However, if you are looking for an exhaustive study, you will not find it in this 32 page booklet

This review is from: Pagan Origins of the Christ Myth (Paperback)
the reason why i gave this read 5 stars is because the essay is based on sound materials / solid references and the writers case is not complicated ( i appreciate simple).
this synopsis is simple / clear cut for both: the faithful / non - faithful. it will broaden your horizons with the interesting / compelling parallelism of the ancients... i think that this read will make a devoted christian feel discomfort ( the title is ample). i also feel that this should not limit his / her mind into exploring other avenues... last but not least, i know that if the reader(s) is not a christian / muslim (muslims believe in the christ (not the godhead)) he / she will respect the writers well researched case. sit next to your window with your cup of tea / coffee and kick your feet up. read this uncomplicated booklet, it's worthy.

Interesting book although not much I didn't already know. But to call this a book is a stretch; it's a booklet.

I found the book to be well written and concise. It told me the things I wanted to know and didn't overdo the verbiage. I like it.

Pagan Origins of the Christ Myth,
By M. C. Pendleton "Clay Pendleton" (Salt Lake City, Utah United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Pagan Origins of the Christ Myth (Paperback)
Here is another interesting book that explains how the Myth idea was created. But saying that the Christ idea came out of Pagan origins - You have got to be kidding! These Pagan Myths are the creation and invention of thoughts from man and not from God. Many readers who really feel that the Christ story came out of these counterfeit pagan origins do not understand how pagan sources were developed? The teachings of a Christ or Saviour was explained long before these man made myths were invented. The false teachings that came before the flood were stamped out by many of the fallen and much of the myths that originated in this book came after the flood by many of Noah's children who refused to harken to the teachings of a Prophet of God. I feel that many have the story turned the other way around. Pagan Origins are man made myths that trace their well spring source from truths that were once taught long before the flood or any idol or pagan worship came into being. This story of a Christ, is an eternal truth, and was taught to Adam and and all the Prophets long before Pagan sources changed the story around for their own advantages. Where do you think these Pagan Orgins got their ideas from? Truth was taught from the begining and was distored by man refusing to obey Prophets from Adam down to Noah. When God knew Abraham's heart and chose him, it became necessary to establish a new covenant again with a chosen people who would believe in a true living God - because many people by then had already fallen by the way side into idol worship because of Nimrod's doings. Nimrod and others perverted the truths that were once known to all three sons of Noah and led many astray into dark paths. Abraham was instructed by God that his family line were not to have any relations with the "Daughters of Men" - people who fell away from the truths that were taught and chose to go after strange Gods down dark paths to worship Gods made of Wood and Stone. This is where pagan sources were developed because so many had fallen into pagan worship and lost the knowledge of the true God and were left to their own wisdom and understanding that came not from God.
