an introduction to chivalry tales,

Children 10-12 will get a fine introduction to some of the more famous knight tales of the Middle Ages. With a brief introduction given to the essence of page-hood, squire-hood, and knight-hood, the author devotes the rest of her book to the re-telling of the more common tales from King Arthur and the Round Table, Sir Roland, St. George, and others. Your children will learn about King Arthur and Excalibur, as well as read an interesting telling of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. A study of the Middle Ages is hardly complete without an introduction to these well-known tales. Sit back and read them with your children, or allow them to read on their own. When they read more challenging renditions later on, they will be well-equipped. I have found that most books from this publisher are really worth reading. All written around 100 years ago when children's literature was more challenging, they tend to be of a higher quality academically as well as possessing a sweeter, gentler feel than a lot of modern day children's books.
