No matter how you package this incredible album, it will always shine. This has a few perks that the original does not have, such as Change We Must and a great 5 minute Vangelis intro to Wisdom Chain. It is a must for all completists, but if you are only getting one Page of Life, you need the import version which has 4 other incredible songs strangely not on the American release. Vangelis himself was very upset that this version was ever released. Some of the songs were remixed and do sound different from the originals, but, to be fair to Jon Anderson, it still is a masterpiece of an album. The song Page of Life must be one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Change We must and Garden of Senses are so inspirational and uplifting. It is hard to listen to this album and not feel more relaxed and inspired. I suggest buying both versions, you really can't lose.

This album is a long awaited release as it was just a foriegn release until a little while ago. A great version of "Change we Must" is here and (though not credited) Jimmy Haun play's all the electric guitars on the album. Jon is in good voice and the songs hold together well. A must have.

I bought the Cd in 1991 and still listen to it often today.. Wisdom Chain:..... is a wonderful song with heavy bass lines and very high vocals by Jon.... "Love is the perfect place" will stay with you long after hearing this song. Page of Life:... is a painting in it self, keyboards and vocal take you to another world, one of inner reflection. Jazzy Box:.... is just that, a wild jazzy number that is wildly different from anything Vangelis has done before. Garden of Senses:..... If you don't find your self laying in a beautiful garden when listening to this song then you are not listening, one of the top 5 Jon/Vangelis songs ever.....not to be topped. Is it love:..... Put this song on your CD player and hold your loved one in your arms, turn off the lights, light a candle. romance will soon follow... Anyone can Light a Candle:...... A Jon classic, Vangelis soars with wonderful panio, simple and beautiful. Be a Good Friend of Mine:...... A real rocker, very heavy drumming and keyboads abound, JON is on target. Shine for Me:...... Jon and Vangelis have been down this road before, wonderful. Genevieve:.... Simple and a real delight. JON's voice is in top form here. Journey to Ixtlan:..... Could have been much longer, the song ends just as it really kicks in. Little Guitar:..... Just that, a wonderful little guitar song...ie: Steve Howe could have pinned this one. Money:.... I think that Jon and Vangelis is sending the music industry a message on this one.....Fun and very different for JON.......... Trust me!! you must have this CD......Love is the perfect Place..........And so is this CD, one of my all time favorites.......and I am a huge YES fan.

Jon & Vangelis have never sounded better. Sadly this may turn out to be the last of this miraculous combination as it has been nearly 10 years since its release. This version is the essential one. If you only buy one copy of this album, this is the one to buy. Each song is fantastic in its own right. From the opening notes of Wisdom Chain to the last notes of Little Guitar this is a flawless album. When they decided to release an American version of this album they basically took some of the heart out of it. To imagine removing Be a Good Friend of Mine or Journey to Ixtlan is unthinkable, they are such powerful songs that join with all the others to create the soaring atmosphere in this spiritual odyssey. This is one of the best albums you could ever buy. You are in for a rare treat.

After falling in love with "Private Collection", and using that poor burned CD so much it got laser rot, I decided to try out other Cds by Jon and Vangelis. Page of Life was one that I purchased, the German Import, and well I was NOT disappointed by any means. Let me tell you, there are some songs on here that will bring tears to your eyes. Namely "Is it Love", Genevieve", and my very favorite "Shine for me". My gawd, could anything be more beautiful? I am obsessed with Jon Anderson and his angelic voice, but it's like Vangelis and him were meant to be a team, creating some of the most wonderful music on this Earth.

This is, by far, a VERY good investment, especially if you are a hopeless romantic like me. Make sure you have tissues when you listen to "Shine For Me." Wow.

Wow!!. Two days ago I put "Page of Life" on my sound system and I wanted to know how well or bad this album was rated. What a surprise to learn that the release shown here is missing the track titled "Is it Love". For me, this is the best one (by far) from this album. "Is it Love" was co-produced by the same duo of Jon Anderson and David Tickle who also co-produced "Loved by The Sun" with Tangerine Dream for the original soundtrack of "Legend". If you liked "Loved by The Sun" then you will like "Is it Love".

Note: That's why I'm giving it only 2 stars. But, I rate the release I have with 5 stars!!!.

This is one of the best jon & vangelis cds. Very spiritually uplifting.

This CD has beautiful lyrics and very nice vocals and Vangelis accompaniments. It also contains the romantic song "Anyone Can Light A Candle" used on one of the soap operas recently. Fans, this is the one you've been searching for.

I have both versions, the original 1991 release and this one. The Remastering/remixing...not sure how much there is of each, is much better on this disc. You here bits of music missing or hidden from the original release and Andersons voice is much clearer. My advice is to buy both discs, create a new CD - for personal use of course - with all the tracks from this release and the additional tracks from the original release. You then have a stunning 64 minute Jon and Vangelis Release which includes the wonderful 'Change We Must'....Enjoy..

I love Jon in YES. I love Jon solo (especially Olias of Sunhillow and Change We Must). This is just as good (debatable), but very different and verrry mellowwww. Listen with a glass of wine and nothing to do, nowhere to go... If so, you will see, you will hear, you will be. Vangelis creates a tapestry of cosmic buoyancy for Jon's voice. Love is what I hear. I love this music. D.W.
