Sleek and Slick, Classy and Contemporary, June 1, 2011

This 2009 collaboration between Celso Fonseca and Marcos Valle is absolutely flawless, and is remarkable on multiple levels.
First, this album really is a true collaboration. Both artists are credited as co-composers of every song, and the results yield a seamless blend of their respective talents.
Also interesting is the fact that the Brazilian element of the music, while present, is rather subtle. Thus, this album can be enjoyed by listeners of all stripes, Brazil-centric or otherwise. The arrangements are delicious, with nothing at all overdone. All things being equal (which of course they never are), I personally prefer a stripped-down MPB sound to something highly orchestrated. This album has both, and everything works beautifully. The production is exquisite.
Lastly, this is such a pleasant, happy, "up" album! You will feel great after listening to it!
Notes from Japan: In this, my fourth Amazon review of contemporary Brazilian music, I again offer you, the connoisseur, information on Japanese CD releases. Certainly, you can always count on superior manufacturing and sound quality from a Japanese CD; that's a given.
The Japanese edition of "Página Central" has two additional tracks: instrumental versions of "Azul Cristal" and "No Balanço do Meu Samba." Both are very similar to the vocal versions, but as these are two of the best songs on the album, hey, go for it! Note that this CD is issued with an obi, so if you go for the Japanese version, that obi should be there!

Awesome Brazilian Jazz Album, July 27, 2010

This 2009 album put out by great Marcos Valle and Celso Fonseca showcases their finesse and musiquality.
Most all of the songs are very pleasant and flow great.
