I bought this for a river trip and I really love it. It fit great into the canoe with all the other gear we had to bring, and it made for a nice evening after all day on the river. Very easy to set up, we also used the drain floor which captured all of our shower drain water and made it easy to collect and properly dispose of. And we also used the Power Shower by PahaQue and everyone loved it. A new dimension to camping, I really recommend the Tepee as a shower or as a restroom. Great! Very Pleased!

Hot Showers in the Woods!,
By
This review is from: Paha Que Fiberglass Pole Tepee Shower and Outhouse Tent (Sports)
I was skeptical about the price of this tent initially but I liked what it looked like in the pics. Assembly was awkward at fist since the vertical supports are inside the tent instead of outside. Once I got the hang of it, assemply went very smoothly. It is a very attractive tent and very sturdy. I had also purchased a water heater and it was great to have hot showers over a long holiday weekend. I liked this tent so much I wish I had a full-sized tent from this company. Although it is a little more expencsive than some other shower tent options which are available, there are a lot more detailed craftmanship features with this tent. I would highly reccomment this tent to others.

WOULD NOT PAY THE EXTRA MONEY FOR THIS ITEM,

If I were to buy a shower/outhouse again I would not pay the extra money for this one. They claim one person can set it up in 5 minutes but in our experience we can't set it up with 2 people in 5 minutes. The sleeves that the poles go through are so tight it is a struggle to get the poles through. There was really nothing about this unit that really impressed me and there are other versions that are only a fraction of the price.

Doh!,
This review is from: Paha Que Fiberglass Pole Tepee Shower and Outhouse Tent (Sports)
The tent sets up extremely easy (except for below) and has plenty of room. The material seems to be decent quality but here are the issues....
We were setting up the tent and one of the poles refused to fit through the channel. After further inspection, where there was additional stitching for one of the hooks, they had sewn in to the channel, not providing enough room for the pole to slip through properly. A hair dryer and a little patience and I was able to get the pole through. For such an expensive purchase, a little quality assurance would go a long way. Now the tent is set up, I notice there is a "push" in the top netting, its not really a rip but the netting is defective in one spot. I guess nail polish would stop it from ripping but why should I be worrying about this on a brand new tent? Just a note... if there is low lighting behind the tent, you will see shadows. So if you are sitting on the pot or taking a shower and rub a dubbing, you can see shadows from the outside. And finally... While taking down the tent and GENTLY and I do mean GENTLY removing the poles, one of them gets hung up on the threads (the same threads that were sewn in for hooks) and the bungee snaps with no effort at all. What the heck? That was the last straw, back it goes. Amazon did great as usual. Fast shipping and willing to exchange or refund my purchase. Edit: Received new tent and only one of the channels had the problem described above. Granted, not as bad as the first tent so it is workable, it should loosen up after multiple uses and baking in the sun while camping. The top netting of the replacement had been repaired, so apparently I got a refurbed tent? The overhead "holder" was also missing.. Sheesh.. luckily I had not sent the other tent off. Overall... C+ We shall see how it holds up after being used multiple times.

A second bathroom for guests!,
By
This review is from: Paha Que Fiberglass Pole Tepee Shower and Outhouse Tent (Sports)
Bought this for summer guests who stay in the yurt on my property - so they don't have to come through my bedroom on way to lav. Worked just great with a port-a-potty inside. A little tricky to set up at first but is withstanding lots of wind and rain this summer. It also looks really cute which actually was a concern since it's very visible upon entering the property.

It took a bit the first time we set this up to figure it out, but once we got it it was easy to set up after that. We use it as a shower tent and it works perfect. Would make a great porta-tent or changing tent.
The hammock that holds the shower bag has cheaper plastic clips that attach to the loops, broke two of them on the first time I set it up. Paha Que replaced the hammock and so far so good on the new hammock. Same design, but I now know how to use it.

I was a little skeptical about ordering this after reading the reviews, however, I was pleasantly surprised when I received it and set it up. I do recommend setting this up once at home so you understand how it goes together. The one I received was not white. It was grey with an orange top (which was fine with me) but I'm not sure if a different model was sent. The poles were heavy duty with thick shock cording. The channels inside the tent that the poles go through were amply sized. The only issue was with the rubber on the poles. It has a sticky texture, not smooth, so the poles caught a little bit while feeding them through the channels. Nothing a quick wiggle didn't fix. Set-up took longer the first time since the instructions were a little confusing but it shouldn't take one person more than 5 minutes to set this up after they've done it once before.
This tent is very tall once it is set up. I liked that feature. I am 5'8"" and I had to stand on my toes to get it fully set up but was able to do it by myself no problem. If you are shorter you might have some trouble reaching the top poles. It is also very roomy inside. There is a mesh holder for the shower bag that holds the shower bag at about 6' high so you shouldn't need to stoop to take a shower. The zippers seem like they are a good quality, but I'll have to see how they hold up over multiple uses. There are some very nice details with this tent. There are zippers along the top that allow you to access towels that you can hang from the top support rods outside the tent without having to get out of the tent. There are a couple of hanging bags included, one mesh and one plastic. The instructions are sewed into the bag. The storage bag is very big. I had enough extra room to put the floor, a shower bag, the showerhead, and the shower hose into the storage bag. There is an extra storage bag for the poles and it has a small pocket on the outside to store the stakes and other accessories. The storage bag also has a strap so you can carry the bag over your shoulder. Very well thought out. I would recommend this product.

Shower tent,
This review is from: Paha Que Fiberglass Pole Tepee Shower and Outhouse Tent (Sports)
On the positive, a very well made shower tent. The negative is the very difficult assembly. I can assemble my six person tent in half the time. The rod couplers are too big for the tent sleeves making it almost impossible to slide the rods up to the top of the tent. This is even worse when you attempt to remove these rods as you cannot pull them out from the base without binding up each coupler and separating the rod.
Had I not used it I would return it.

Great for the ladies,
This review is from: Paha Que Fiberglass Pole Tepee Shower and Outhouse Tent (Sports)
We just finished a camping trip with the Paha Que Tepee outhouse and it made all the difference for my wife. Usually it's just a guys trip and I'll wander off into the woods with my paper ans shovel as needed. But with the wife along, that just wasn't gonna fly. We brought the Paha Que Tepee and it made the trip a whole lot easier for everyone. My wife had a nice place to take care of business and I didn't have to hear her complain. Sure, it's obvioius you're in an out-house, but it beats wizzin in your shoe.

Good makeshift shower in deck,
This review is from: Paha Que Fiberglass Pole Tepee Shower and Outhouse Tent (Sports)
needed a makeshift shower in deck as my wife cannot climb stairs.
Quick install and dismantle after each use. Slightly expensive. Would have given 5 stars if under 100 bucks. |
