Needed further work both from the writer and editor,

This review is from: Paid in Full (Paperback)
"Paid in Full" is a fast paced mystery, which starts when former cop and now real estate agent Ari Adams discovers a corpse in one of her house listings. Her best friend Bob becomes the prime suspect and disappears. In her desire to help her friend Ari enters in a collision course with Detective Molly Nelson who is in charge of the case.
This is Ann Roberts first book and her writing shows some talent. In fact, the main characters are interesting, the romance is believable and the plot although not very complex is able to keep us interested. However, besides minor discrepancies, there are also some weaknesses in the plot related to characters which seem to be omniscient and a good editor would have certainly made "Paid in Full" a better book.

Enjoyable First-Time Novel,

I always look forward to a book from a new author. I'm also cautious when I decide to pick one up because most of the time they're either really good or really bad. Fortunately, they're usually really good. `Paid in Full' fell somewhere in the middle. The book is good, but lacks maturity on the part of the author. The mystery is good, but not terribly complex or believable. The romance is sweet, but is a little disjointed. All in all, I think Roberts will some day be a very good author and this is a pretty good first novel.
Roberts introduces real estate agent and former cop Ari Adams as she stumbles across a murder victim at one of her listings. Ari meets homicide detective Molly Nelson as she is being interviewed as a witness. It seems Ari's best friend Bob is the prime suspect, a situation that gets worse when Bob flees and goes underground. Ari is convinced Bob is innocent and, to Molly's chagrin, begins her own investigation. Despite their friction over Bob and the investigation, Molly and Ari find they cannot deny a mutual attraction. As they begin to explore their newfound feelings, the big question is - can the fledgling relationship handle the stress of the investigation? I know this is a short review, but the book is fairly short and is not very complex. It's a good first attempt, but I know Roberts will improve with experience.

Engaging read!,
This review is from: Paid in Full (Paperback)
It took me only 4 days to read this book, because I kept coming back to it, wanting to know what was going to happen next. A good story with interesting female main characters. I especially enjoyed the dialogue and laughed out loud a few times. I found this in the romance section, but it's definitely a mystery. Can't wait to read this author's next book!

I read the book in a few days. Easy to read. For me, the book was not as exciting as Radclyff books or some of the other writers. The romance was not exciting and the ending was weak. Wasn't very romantic for a romance book.
