5.0 out of 5 stars The First Worthy Successor to Joni Mitchell, July 1, 2007
This review is from: Paige Aufhammer (Audio CD)
What a Find.

This 22 year old singer stands head and shoulders above her other contemporaries of the same genre. In fact, I would go so far as to say that she has produced perhaps the best female singer-songwriter album in the last 2 years.

"Paige Aufhammer" may never become a best-selling CD, but if youre looking for a Tori Amos/Regina Spektor-esque experience without all the lyrical gimmickry, then Paige is your girl.

There is one standout though - her voice. This crystal clear instrument is a thing to behold. Listen to every track on this CD - there is no filler at ALL (a miracle in this day and age).

If you're a fan of sweet folk music, with a pop-harp vibe, then this is the CD for you. I can vouch for the fact that if you're on a road trip or long journey, this is one CD that you can pop on and play all the way through - and you will soon learn all the words!

I don't hand out 5 Stars very easily, but I think this is the only CD this year worth such extravagant praise (behind Tori Amos and Rufus Wainwright's new CDs). This is on par with Mandy Moore's new "Wild Hope" CD in terms of lyrics, but is miles ahead in terms of musical content.

Well done Paige. This girl deserves a greater audience. Be it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great CD from an Amazing Artist, June 30, 2007
This review is from: Paige Aufhammer (Audio CD)
This is definitely a great CD from an amazing new song writer and artist. Her voice could be described as "angelic", but that doesn't exactly capture her sound, so you'll have to experience it for yourself. For me, some of this CD's best moments are in her softer, more contemplative songs like "Coffee", "Long Road", or "New England", but there are some great upbeat tracks here as well. Paige Aufhammer has come up with a nice refreshing, mostly acoustic folk/pop sound, that is a treat for the ears. I highly recommend this CD, and will be looking forward to hearing more from Paige Aufhammer in the coming years!

5.0 out of 5 stars A WONDERFUL NEW ARTIST, September 26, 2007
This review is from: Paige Aufhammer (Audio CD)
If you're lucky enough to be on this sight, I implore you to bend over and pick up this wonderful little JEWEL!! Paige Aufhammer, kudos and Thank You, for this little piece of Heaven! Paige has a wonderful instrument that seems to be completely unemcumbered by ego or trepidations of any kind. A natural voice which defies any truly meaningful comparison to other artists (Qualia), however track #8 "Out of Time" has me racking the cobwebs of my mind for a name from the distant past and the music that goes with that distant memory. Along with the gifted voice is a clairvoyant poet! No doubt Paige has been "Quoting Angels Songs For Years" I was led to this sight by a computer which was apparently able to ascertain what it was I was searching for. While browsing through other sights of what might likely be similar style music, I read a review praising the musical abilities of this Artist. I was intrigued and took a look. Not much information, but the two reviewers certainly left little doubt as to their immediate impressions of this Wunderkind! I bent over to pick it up, four days later, "I was Falling Back In Love". Stop "Wandering". "There's an awful lot of noise out here, Where sound becomes an anthem to Fear" Fear not, within this little JEWEL are Forty One minutes of Pure Heaven! Could we expect anything more from a first outing? I think not. Can we expect anything more in the future? Undoubtably a resounding YES. I have four Twentysomething Daughters who will be receiving their very own Paige One C.D's. One of those daughters, being a gifted artist in her own right will receive my very own copy for her birthday in two days. I believe it will be one of those rare birthday gifts that an old father can give to his Young Woman Daughter, which will be a lasting and cherished Memory for years to come. I will replace my own and purchase many further copies for friends with a taste for the exquisite and sublime. Don't miss this unique opportunity to discover a gift of "Angels Songs". I'm sure you'll understand her language. I'm sure you'll join with her in Song!!! Once again, Thanks and congratulations to Paige Aufhammer, Kortnie Heying, and everyone else involved in this (Soon to Be) Triumph! P.S. the name of Emy Lou Harris just danced through my mind.....

Sometimes it seems that having a beautiful voice, and really letting it wail, has gone out of style in favor of sounding detached and quirky and cool. Thank goodness Paige doesn't know. Her voice is unique but reminds me a little of Patty Griffin's. The songs are beautiful and very replayable. I can't wait until she comes out with something else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Paige Aufhammer CD, April 20, 2009
This review is from: Paige Aufhammer (Audio CD)
Paige wrote all the songs that she sings on this album which was released in 2006. Her lyrics reflect her authentic Christianity, but are soft and gentle; pointing us to love.
